Which companies sponsor visas for directors of project management in Washington?
Microsoft, Amazon, Boeing, and Expedia are among the Washington employers with documented H-1B sponsorship histories for senior project management roles. Smaller tech firms in the Bellevue and Redmond corridors also sponsor regularly. Life sciences companies in the greater Seattle area, including those in biotech and medical devices, have hired internationally for director-level program and project leadership positions.
Which visa types are most common for director of project management roles in Washington?
The H-1B is the most common visa for director of project management positions in Washington, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field such as engineering, business, or computer science. Candidates with multinational backgrounds may also qualify for the L-1A intracompany transferee visa if moving from an affiliated overseas office. The O-1A is an option for those with demonstrated exceptional achievement in their field.
Which cities in Washington have the most director of project management sponsorship jobs?
Seattle and Bellevue account for the majority of director of project management sponsorship opportunities in Washington, driven by the concentration of large technology employers. Redmond is significant given Microsoft's headquarters there. Kirkland, Renton, and Everett also see activity, particularly in aerospace and manufacturing. Roles are heavily concentrated west of the Cascades, with the Puget Sound region being the clear center of gravity for sponsored positions.
How to find director of project management visa sponsorship jobs in Washington?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can browse director of project management roles in Washington without sorting through positions that don't support international candidates. The platform aggregates openings from companies with active sponsorship programs, which is particularly useful for senior roles where employer willingness to sponsor is not always stated upfront in standard job postings.
Are there any Washington-specific considerations for director of project management visa sponsorship?
Washington's tech-heavy economy means many sponsoring employers are familiar with H-1B processes, but director-level roles often require demonstrating that the position qualifies as a specialty occupation, which can involve more detailed documentation than individual contributor roles. Washington has no state income tax, which is relevant context for prevailing wage compliance. The University of Washington also feeds talent pipelines that some employers draw from when evaluating international candidates at the senior level.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored director of project management jobs in Washington?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
