Job Description
The Department of Child, Family, & Population Health Nursing has an outstanding opportunity for a full-time Project Director position.
Working in a multidisciplinary research team under the leadership of the Principal Investigator, the Project Director will develop, implement, and oversee data collection protocols for a new national study that builds on a previous multisite, longitudinal study. The project will recruit 468 female participants (ages 35-40) from locations across the country to complete a follow-up visit, including a physical exam, blood draw, and interviews. This new data collection will be merged with the existing database to test a series of analytical models focusing on women’s cardiometabolic health and biological aging over the life course.
The Project Director will oversee the day-to-day operations of the project. The Project Director’s work will include: implementing subject recruitment procedures; overseeing research protocol procedures; developing and overseeing data entry and data management activities; assisting in hiring and supervising local staff and in-field study staff; maintaining spreadsheets and other systems for tracking project expenditures and projecting spending; preparing relevant portions of the annual progress report; reviewing ongoing data for accuracy and completeness; merging ongoing newly collected data with existing data; integrating ongoing sources of data from external labs; conducting data analyses related to descriptive statistics; collaborating with study statistician to assist in conducting data analyses related to the study hypotheses; preparing data summaries to track study progress; and preparing written reports to assist the Principal Investigator with the dissemination of research findings in the context of conference presentations and primary and secondary manuscripts.

Building and maintaining a study database (30%):
- Conducting data quality checks.
- Merging newly collected data with existing data.
- Integrating sources of data from external labs.
- Conducting data analyses related to descriptive statistics.
- Assisting in conducting data analyses related to the main analyses.
- Preparing data summaries to track study progress.
- Preparing written reports to assist with conference presentations and manuscripts.
Overseeing staff training/performance and fiscal management/reporting (15%):
- Performing staff training to maintain high-quality performance of recruitment and data collection tasks.
- Performing fiscal management tasks to maintain appropriate tracking, documentation, and compliance.
Minimum Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in a social sciences or other research-related field relevant to the study (e.g., nursing, pre-med, public health, health psychology, epidemiology).
- 2 or more years of relevant work experience implementing human subject data collection protocols, and conducting research involving health assessments and biological specimens.
