Mechanical Technician
Position Summary
The Mechanical Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing machinery and equipment used in the production and processing of activated carbon products. This role supports safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations while minimizing downtime and maintaining equipment performance.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair plant equipment including briquetting, pulverizing, furnace, reactor, carbonization, conveying, and related mechanical systems.

Identify mechanical issues such as wear, leaks, vibration, misalignment, or equipment failure during operation.

Perform preventive maintenance and respond to equipment breakdowns to restore operations quickly and safely.

Assist with installation, alignment, testing, and startup of new equipment.

Inspect and repair bearings, belts, chains, gears, motors, pumps, and conveyors.

Follow all company safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and required PPE.
Qualifications & Skills

Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills with industrial equipment.

Experience with furnaces, reactors, carbonization systems, briquetting, or pulverizing equipment preferred.

Ability to read equipment manuals, drawings, and technical instructions.

Ability to work independently in an industrial environment.

Industrial maintenance or mechanical experience preferred.
Pay: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour
