Which companies sponsor visas for cloud data engineers in Wisconsin?
Fiserv in Milwaukee, Epic Systems in Verona, and American Family Insurance in Madison are among the most active Wisconsin employers filing H-1B visa petitions for technology roles. Healthcare IT firms, financial technology companies, and large insurers generally have established immigration programs and legal teams equipped to handle sponsorship for cloud data engineers requiring specialized skills in platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Which visa types are most common for cloud data engineers in Wisconsin?
The H-1B is the most common visa for cloud data engineer roles in Wisconsin, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field. Candidates already in the U.S. on F-1 OPT or STEM OPT can work before an H-1B is filed. L-1B visas apply for intracompany transfers with specialized knowledge in cloud infrastructure or data engineering.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most cloud data engineer sponsorship jobs?
Milwaukee and Madison account for the majority of cloud data engineering opportunities in Wisconsin. Milwaukee's financial technology and insurance sectors, anchored by employers like Fiserv and Northwestern Mutual, generate consistent demand. Madison's concentration of healthcare technology firms, including Epic Systems, and the presence of the University of Wisconsin creates a second strong cluster. Smaller pockets of activity exist in Green Bay and Racine.
How to find cloud data engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, letting you search for cloud data engineer roles in Wisconsin without manually screening each employer. Because Wisconsin's sponsoring employers are concentrated in healthcare IT, fintech, and insurance, filtering by those industries on Migrate Mate helps narrow results to companies with active immigration programs rather than those that have never sponsored before.
Are there any Wisconsin-specific considerations for cloud data engineers seeking visa sponsorship?
Wisconsin's prevailing wage requirements under the H-1B Labor Condition Application are set by Department of Labor data for the Milwaukee and Madison metropolitan areas, which tend to reflect Midwest market rates rather than coastal figures. Candidates graduating from University of Wisconsin-Madison's computer science or data engineering programs are already embedded in a region where major local employers actively recruit, which can create a shorter path from academic networks to sponsored employment.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored cloud data engineer jobs in Wisconsin?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
