Which manufacturing companies sponsor F-1 STEM OPT visas in Wisconsin?
Wisconsin manufacturers with established international hiring patterns include Rockwell Automation, Oshkosh Corporation, Johnson Controls, Briggs and Stratton, and Generac Power Systems. Industrial equipment and electronics manufacturers across the Milwaukee metro tend to file Labor Condition Applications at higher rates than smaller regional shops. Confirming active STEM OPT employer participation through DOL disclosure data before applying gives you a clearer picture of actual sponsorship activity.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most manufacturing F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship jobs?
Milwaukee leads Wisconsin for manufacturing STEM OPT opportunities given its concentration of industrial automation, power systems, and advanced manufacturing firms. Madison attracts engineering talent tied to university-adjacent manufacturing and precision instrumentation. Green Bay has a strong packaging and paper products manufacturing base, while Racine and Kenosha host automotive components suppliers with recurring technical hiring needs.
What types of manufacturing roles typically qualify for F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship?
Roles that consistently qualify include manufacturing engineers, process engineers, quality assurance engineers, automation and controls engineers, industrial engineers, and supply chain analysts with quantitative responsibilities. These positions typically require a degree in mechanical, electrical, industrial, or systems engineering, or a closely related STEM discipline. The role must tie directly to your degree field for USCIS to recognize it as a valid STEM OPT employment position.
How do I find manufacturing F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate filters manufacturing job listings by visa sponsorship type, letting you search specifically for Wisconsin employers with F-1 STEM OPT hiring history rather than sorting through unverified postings. You can narrow results by city, role type, and employer filing activity. Cross-referencing with DOL OFLC disclosure data on employer LCA filings helps confirm which Wisconsin manufacturers have sponsored international workers in STEM-designated roles recently.
Are there any Wisconsin-specific considerations for F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship in manufacturing?
Wisconsin manufacturing employers must be enrolled in E-Verify to legally employ STEM OPT workers, and this requirement applies regardless of company size. Wisconsin's manufacturing sector skews toward mid-size industrial companies where immigration compliance infrastructure can vary. Verifying E-Verify enrollment status before accepting an offer is essential, as a non-enrolled employer cannot legally place you in STEM OPT employment even if both parties intend to proceed.
