Which companies in Wisconsin sponsor visas for operations interns?
Employers with established internship programs and a history of sponsoring international talent include Kohler Co. in Sheboygan, Oshkosh Corporation in Oshkosh, and Rockwell Automation in Milwaukee. Healthcare organizations like Epic Systems in Verona and Aurora Health Care also recruit operations interns. These companies typically have dedicated HR teams familiar with OPT and H-1B processes, making them more likely to support international candidates.
Which visa types are most common for operations intern roles in Wisconsin?
Most international students completing operations internships in Wisconsin work under F-1 OPT or Curricular Practical Training, which allows employment tied to their degree program without requiring employer sponsorship of a visa petition. For post-internship conversion to full-time roles, H-1B sponsorship becomes relevant. Operations roles can qualify as specialty occupations when the position requires a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as supply chain management, industrial engineering, or business administration.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most operations intern sponsorship opportunities?
Madison and Milwaukee concentrate the largest share of operations intern opportunities in Wisconsin. Madison benefits from proximity to the University of Wisconsin-Madison and employers like Epic Systems and American Family Insurance. Milwaukee draws from a strong manufacturing and logistics base, with companies such as Rockwell Automation and Harley-Davidson maintaining internship programs. Green Bay and Appleton also offer opportunities through food processing and paper manufacturing employers in the Fox Valley region.
How to find operations intern visa sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate lets you filter operations intern roles specifically by state, so you can browse Wisconsin positions where employers have indicated openness to visa sponsorship. Because operations internships vary widely by industry, filtering by role and location together on Migrate Mate helps you identify companies in manufacturing, healthcare, and logistics that are actively recruiting international candidates in Wisconsin rather than sorting through roles that may not apply.
Are there state-specific considerations for operations interns seeking sponsorship in Wisconsin?
Wisconsin's manufacturing and agriculture-driven economy means many operations intern roles are tied to industrial or supply chain functions, which generally align well with specialty occupation criteria. The University of Wisconsin system has strong co-op and internship pipelines that connect international students to Wisconsin employers. Students should confirm that their specific role and degree combination satisfies OPT eligibility requirements with their Designated School Official before accepting an offer.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored operations intern jobs in Wisconsin?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
