Which companies sponsor visas for project leads in Wisconsin?
Several large Wisconsin employers have a track record of sponsoring international project leads. Kohler Co. in Kohler, Harley-Davidson and Northwestern Mutual in Milwaukee, Epic Systems in Verona, and UW Health in Madison are among the most active. Manufacturing, healthcare IT, and financial services firms tend to hire project leads at the volume that makes sponsorship a standard part of their recruitment process.
Which visa types are most common for project lead roles in Wisconsin?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa for project lead roles in Wisconsin, particularly in IT, engineering, and operations management, where a bachelor's degree in a relevant field is a standard requirement. Some employers also use the L-1A for intracompany transferees moving into lead or managerial project roles. Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify for TN visa status if the role aligns with a listed TN occupation.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most project lead sponsorship jobs?
Madison and Milwaukee account for the majority of project lead sponsorship activity in Wisconsin. Madison benefits from Epic Systems, the University of Wisconsin, and a growing startup ecosystem. Milwaukee is home to corporate headquarters in manufacturing, financial services, and healthcare. Green Bay has a smaller but notable concentration of project lead roles tied to manufacturing and logistics operations.
How to find project lead visa sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can search project lead roles in Wisconsin without sorting through positions that don't support international candidates. The platform surfaces openings across industries including manufacturing, healthcare IT, and engineering, which are the sectors most likely to sponsor project leads in Wisconsin. Filtering by state and role together saves significant time in your search.
Are there any Wisconsin-specific considerations for project leads seeking visa sponsorship?
Wisconsin's prevailing wage requirements under the H-1B program are tied to Department of Labor determinations for each metro area, so compensation benchmarks differ between Madison, Milwaukee, and smaller markets like Appleton or Wausau. The University of Wisconsin system also produces a steady pipeline of international graduates who pursue project lead roles locally, meaning competition for sponsored positions in Madison can be higher than in other Wisconsin cities.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored project lead jobs in Wisconsin?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
