Which companies sponsor visas for strategy consultants in Wisconsin?
The most active sponsors in Wisconsin tend to be large consulting firms with established practices in the state, including Deloitte, Accenture, and Huron Consulting Group, which serves significant healthcare clients in Milwaukee and Madison. Major corporations with in-house strategy functions, such as Northwestern Mutual and Fiserv, also have documented H-1B sponsorship histories. Multinational manufacturers headquartered in Wisconsin occasionally sponsor strategy roles as well.
Which visa types are most common for strategy consultant roles in Wisconsin?
The H-1B is the most common visa for strategy consultants in Wisconsin, given that consulting roles requiring a relevant bachelor's degree or higher generally qualify as specialty occupations. Candidates from Canada or Mexico may pursue the TN visa under the NAFTA/USMCA professional category, which covers management consultants. Australians with consulting backgrounds should also consider the E-3 visa, which offers a separate annual allocation and no lottery.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most strategy consultant sponsorship jobs?
Milwaukee is the primary hub, driven by its concentration of financial services, healthcare, and insurance employers, including companies like Northwestern Mutual and Advocate Aurora Health that retain consultants regularly. Madison is the second-strongest market, supported by the University of Wisconsin system, state government agencies, and a growing technology sector. Green Bay and Appleton see occasional openings tied to manufacturing and supply chain consulting engagements.
How to find strategy consultant visa sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for roles where employers have demonstrated a willingness to sponsor work visas, so you can search strategy consultant openings in Wisconsin without sifting through positions that exclude international candidates. The platform is particularly useful for identifying Milwaukee and Madison-based firms that have active sponsorship histories in consulting. Filtering by role and state on Migrate Mate saves significant time compared to reviewing unfiltered postings elsewhere.
Are there any Wisconsin-specific considerations for strategy consultants seeking visa sponsorship?
Wisconsin's prevailing wage requirements for H-1B petitions are benchmarked to Bureau of Labor Statistics data for the Milwaukee-Waukesha and Madison metropolitan areas, which typically reflect compensation levels below major coastal markets. This can make sponsorship more financially accessible for Wisconsin employers. Additionally, the University of Wisconsin-Madison's MBA and business analytics programs generate a consistent pool of OPT-eligible international candidates, meaning some Wisconsin employers have existing processes for sponsoring international consultants.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored strategy consultant jobs in Wisconsin?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
