Position Purpose:
All KHI employees are expected to perform their respective tasks and duties in such a way that supports KHI’s vision of providing the region’s best clinical care and patient service through an environment that fosters respect for others and pride in performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Researches and acquires a variety of materials, equipment and services according to the organization’s guidelines for cost, quality and delivery.
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Certification/Licensure: None.
Skills/Knowledge:
- Effective interpersonal and customer relation skills
- Experience working with computers and software systems, including Microsoft Office and purchasing systems, compiling statistics and researching and providing information in spreadsheet format
- Knowledge of purchasing policies and procedures
Preferences
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Experience: At least one year previous experience as a buyer, preferably in a hospital setting.
Special Position Requirements
Category III blood borne disease exposure.
Work Requirements
Must be able to sit for a majority of the work day at a computer terminal and have the ability to use a computer keyboard and telephone. Ability to handle a high volume of customer contacts each day with the ability to clearly communicate. Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and periods of prolonged standing or walking.
