How to Get Visa Sponsorship as a Deal Desk Manager
Frame your degree strategically
A bachelor's degree in finance, business, or economics is the strongest credential for Deal Desk roles. If your degree is in a related field, document how your coursework directly supports pricing strategy, contract negotiation, and revenue operations.
Target SaaS and enterprise software employers
Companies with high-volume sales cycles, like cloud software and B2B platforms, rely heavily on Deal Desk functions and have established H-1B sponsorship infrastructure. These employers file regularly and understand the process, reducing friction during hiring.
Quantify your deal impact in applications
Sponsoring employers need to justify the specialty occupation requirement. Highlight metrics like deal cycle reduction, contract value managed, or approval rate improvements. Concrete numbers strengthen both your candidacy and the employer's USCIS petition narrative.
Understand the LCA and prevailing wage process
Your employer must file a Labor Condition Application certifying your offered wage meets the prevailing rate for the role and location. Knowing this helps you evaluate whether an offer is structured to support a successful petition before you accept.
Ask about in-house legal support early
Companies with dedicated immigration counsel or HR immigration programs process H-1B petitions more reliably. During interviews, ask how the company has handled visa sponsorship for similar roles, not just whether they sponsor in principle.
Consider O-1A if your H-1B wasn't selected
Deal Desk professionals with a track record of high-value contracts, cross-functional leadership, or published revenue operations work may qualify for O-1A, which has no lottery and no annual cap. It requires stronger evidence but offers a direct path.

Get Access To All JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does a Deal Desk Manager role qualify as a specialty occupation for H-1B purposes?
Yes. Deal Desk Manager qualifies as a specialty occupation because the role routinely requires a bachelor's degree or higher in finance, business, accounting, or a related field. Petitions are strongest when the job description specifies degree requirements and ties them to core duties like pricing analysis, contract structuring, and revenue operations.
Which visa types are most common for Deal Desk Managers seeking U.S. work authorization?
H-1B is the most common path, though it requires winning the annual lottery. Australians may qualify for the E-3 visa, which has no lottery and is available year-round. Canadians and Mexicans may be eligible under TN status. Candidates with an exceptional track record in revenue operations may also explore the O-1A as a lottery-free alternative.
How can I find Deal Desk Manager jobs that offer visa sponsorship?
Most general job boards don't filter by sponsorship willingness, which wastes time and leads to dead ends. Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates and shows Deal Desk Manager roles where employers have a history of sponsoring work visas, so you can focus your applications where sponsorship is actually on the table.
What degree do I need to get H-1B sponsorship as a Deal Desk Manager?
A bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, economics, or accounting is the standard credential. Degrees in adjacent fields like mathematics or information systems can work if your coursework supports the analytical and contractual aspects of the role. If you lack a four-year degree, three years of specialized work experience can substitute for each year of missing education under USCIS rules.
Are H-1B approvals common for Deal Desk Manager roles, or do they face heavy scrutiny?
Approvals are generally consistent when the petition clearly establishes the degree requirement. Requests for Evidence are more likely when the job description is vague or uses generalist language that doesn't tie a specific degree to the core duties. Employers with strong in-house immigration counsel and precise job descriptions see fewer RFEs and higher approval rates for this title.
What is the prevailing wage requirement for sponsored Deal Desk Manager jobs?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
