Enterprise Application Architect Jobs in USA with Visa Sponsorship
Enterprise Application Architects are strong H-1B visa candidates because the role consistently meets the specialty occupation standard, a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field is a baseline requirement. Most employers sponsor both H-1B and L-1A transfers for this title. For detailed occupation requirements, see the O*NET profile.

Target companies with active H-1B LCA filings for this title
Employers who have previously filed Labor Condition Applications for Enterprise Application Architect roles have already established the job as a specialty occupation, which simplifies the H-1B petition process and reduces RFE risk significantly.
Align your degree field to enterprise architecture, not just IT broadly
USCIS scrutinizes degree-to-role fit. A degree in computer science, information systems, or software engineering maps cleanly to this title. A business or general IT degree may require supplemental documentation to satisfy specialty occupation requirements.
Document your architecture credentials before applying
Certifications like TOGAF or AWS Solutions Architect strengthen your H-1B petition by demonstrating specialized expertise beyond a general degree. Employers sponsoring this role expect candidates to bring recognized credentials that reinforce the specialty occupation argument.
Large enterprises and systems integrators sponsor most consistently
Companies like financial institutions, healthcare systems, and technology consultancies hire Enterprise Application Architects at scale and maintain established immigration programs. These employers process H-1B petitions routinely and are less likely to hesitate on sponsorship logistics.
L-1A is viable if you're transferring within a multinational
If you've worked as an architect or in a managerial capacity at a foreign affiliate for at least one year, an intracompany L-1A transfer can bypass the H-1B lottery entirely. This is a realistic path at global consulting firms and enterprise software companies.
Get the job description right before the LCA is filed
The Labor Condition Application locks in your job duties and work location. Ensure your offer letter and LCA accurately reflect enterprise-level architecture responsibilities, not general developer or analyst tasks, to avoid mismatches that trigger USCIS requests for evidence.

Find Enterprise Application Architect JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does an Enterprise Application Architect role qualify as a specialty occupation for H-1B purposes?
Yes, consistently. USCIS has accepted Enterprise Application Architect as a specialty occupation because the role requires at minimum a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a closely related field. Approval rates are strong when the job description clearly outlines architecture-specific duties rather than general development tasks. A well-drafted petition with specific responsibilities and degree requirements mapped to those responsibilities reduces RFE risk considerably.
What degree do I need to qualify for H-1B sponsorship in this role?
A bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, software engineering, or information systems is the standard. Degrees in business information technology or management information systems can qualify, but the petition must connect the curriculum to enterprise architecture work specifically. If your degree is in an unrelated field, three years of directly relevant work experience can substitute for each year of missing education under USCIS equivalency rules.
Which types of employers sponsor Enterprise Application Architects most reliably?
Large financial services firms, healthcare networks, enterprise software companies, and management consulting practices sponsor this title most consistently. These organizations have dedicated immigration teams and file H-1B petitions annually. Smaller companies or startups may be willing but lack established processes, which can slow the petition timeline. Browse current openings on Migrate Mate to identify employers actively hiring this title with sponsorship available.
Can I transfer to a new employer mid-H-1B if I'm already working as an Enterprise Application Architect?
Yes. H-1B portability allows you to start working for a new employer as soon as the transfer petition is filed, provided your current H-1B was approved and you've maintained lawful status. Your new employer files a new I-129 before your start date. Because the role type stays consistent, the specialty occupation argument carries over cleanly and transfer petitions for this title rarely face significant challenge.
Does the H-1B lottery make sponsorship for this role unpredictable?
The lottery is a real constraint, but Enterprise Application Architects at large employers are often filed under the advanced degree cap, which has a higher selection rate than the general pool. Some employers also use cap-exempt institutions, contract to nonprofit or government settings, or explore L-1 transfers for candidates with qualifying intracompany history. If you go through the lottery and aren't selected, your employer can refile the following registration period without penalty.
What is the prevailing wage requirement for sponsored Enterprise Application Architect jobs?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
