Our platform combines the best of AI and human intelligence to help contact centers discover customer insights and behavioral best practices, automate conversations and inefficient processes, and empower every team member to work smarter and faster. Born from the prestigious Stanford AI lab, Cresta's co-founder and chairman is Sebastian Thrun, the genius behind Google X, Waymo, Udacity, and more. Our leadership also includes CEO, Ping Wu, the co-founder of Google Contact Center AI and Vertex AI platform, and co-founder, Tim Shi, an early member of Open AI.
Join us on this thrilling journey to revolutionize the workforce with AI. The future of work is here, and it's at Cresta.
ABOUT THE ROLE
At Cresta, AI Builders are how we put the power of AI directly into our customers’ hands. Through these builders, our users can design, configure, test, and deploy AI agents that automate tasks, or AI workflows that augment human agents and make them feel superhuman.
As a Product Designer on AI Builders, you’ll design the tools that make this possible. That means owning the end-to-end experience of how customers build, evaluate, and ship AI — navigating the nuanced interplay between agentic and deterministic workflows, and finding the right balance between the two. You’ll sit at the intersection of LLM capabilities, CX operations, and workflow design, translating powerful AI primitives into builder experiences that real contact center teams (from developers to business operators) can adopt and scale with confidence.
Responsibilities
- You’ll turn the complexity of AI and business logic into builder experiences that feel intuitive and self-serve, for both technical users (developers) and non-technical ones (business operators).
- You’ll pair vibe coding/design with your engineer and designer partners to spin off builder concepts and iterate them into polished, production-ready experiences.
- You’ll partner with PMs and tech leads to define problem spaces, north‑star experiences, and iterative milestones.
- You’ll run discovery and evaluative research with our users – interviews, workflow walkthroughs, usability tests, and competitive analysis, to understand how they work today and where AI can meaningfully help.
- You’ll collaborate closely with PMs, MLEs, FDE/FDPMs, Customer Success, and Marketing teams across the organization.
- You’ll advocate for craft – raise the quality bar and help the team develop a shared eye for what great looks like.
- You’ll have good judgment of when to ship: perfect is the enemy of good.
QUALIFICATIONS WE VALUE
- Education in Design, HCI, Interaction, or 5+ years equivalent industry experience.
- Experience in designing AI-driven workflows, no-code/low-code/agentic builders, or complex B2B enterprise applications.
- AI-native working style: comfortable using Claude Code, Cursor, MCP, or similar tools to move faster, prototype deeper, and push beyond what traditional design tooling (Figma) allows.
- Portfolio showcasing simple and elegant design solutions to complex problems, with a focus on end‑to‑end flows rather than isolated screens.
- Strong product thinking + a blend of UX disciplines (interaction design, prototyping, visual design, and user research).
- Curious, adaptable, and a quick learner who thrives in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
PERKS & BENEFITS
We offer a comprehensive and people-first benefits package to support you at work and in life:
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage with plans to fit you and your family.
- Flexible PTO to take the time you need, when you need it.
- Paid parental leave for all new parents welcoming a new child.
- Retirement savings plan to help you plan for the future.
- Remote work setup budget to help you create a productive home office.
- Monthly wellness and communication stipend to keep you connected and balanced.
- In-office meal program and commuter benefits provided for onsite employees.
COMPENSATION AT CRESTA
Cresta’s approach to compensation is simple: recognize impact, reward excellence, and invest in our people. We offer competitive, location-based pay that reflects the market and what each individual brings to the table.
The posted base salary range represents what we expect to pay for this role in a given location. Final offers are shaped by factors like experience, skills, education, and geography. In addition to base pay, total compensation includes equity and a comprehensive benefits package for you and your family.
Salary Range: $150,000–$205,000 + Offers Equity
We have noticed a rise in recruiting impersonations across the industry, where scammers attempt to access candidates' personal and financial information through fake interviews and offers. All Cresta recruiting email communications will always come from the @cresta.ai domain. Any outreach claiming to be from Cresta via other sources should be ignored. If you are uncertain whether you have been contacted by a legitimate Cresta representative, please reach out to us directly.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Visa Sponsorship as a Senior AI Product Designer
Frame your portfolio around AI product impact
Visa sponsors want evidence of specialized expertise, not just good design. Lead with AI-specific work: prompt interfaces, model output visualization, human-AI interaction patterns. Concrete outcomes tied to AI products strengthen your specialty occupation case.
Target companies with an active H-1B filing history
Not every company that posts AI design roles will sponsor visas. Focus on employers who have filed H-1B petitions for similar titles in the past. DOL disclosure data shows which companies consistently sponsor design and product roles.
Get clear on which visa category fits your background
H-1B is the most common path for this role, but O-1A is worth exploring if you have notable recognition in the field. Your degree, work history, and achievements together determine which petition has the strongest approval odds.
Align your degree field to the job description
USCIS evaluates whether your degree directly relates to the role. A background in interaction design, HCI, cognitive science, or computer science maps cleanly. If your degree is in a different field, gather evidence of equivalent specialized training.
Address AI expertise explicitly in your resume
Generic product design experience won't differentiate you for senior AI roles. Specify the AI systems you've designed for, the models involved, and the complexity of the human-AI workflows you've owned. Sponsors need to justify the specialty occupation classification.
Start the sponsorship conversation early in the process
Raising sponsorship needs late in an interview process wastes time for both sides. Bring it up after initial interest is established but before final rounds. Companies experienced with H-1B sponsorship will have a straightforward answer ready.

Find Senior AI Product Designer JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Senior AI Product Designer qualify as a specialty occupation for H-1B purposes?
Yes, in most cases. USCIS evaluates whether the role normally requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field. Senior AI Product Designer roles typically require a degree in interaction design, HCI, computer science, or a closely related discipline, which satisfies the specialty occupation standard. Roles at larger tech companies with well-documented job requirements tend to have fewer adjudication issues than roles at smaller employers where the degree requirement is less established.
What degree do I need to get sponsored for a Senior AI Product Designer role?
Most sponsoring employers require a bachelor's degree in interaction design, human-computer interaction, cognitive science, computer science, or a related field. A degree in graphic design or fine arts alone may not satisfy USCIS without supplemental evidence connecting your background to AI product work. If your degree is in a different field, three years of specialized work experience can substitute for each missing year of education under USCIS equivalency rules.
Is the O-1A visa a realistic option for AI product designers?
It can be, particularly for designers who have published research, spoken at major industry conferences, contributed to widely used AI design systems, or held senior roles at companies with significant industry recognition. The O-1A requires evidence of extraordinary ability in the field, which is a higher bar than H-1B but has no lottery. If your background includes any of those markers, an immigration attorney can assess whether O-1A is worth pursuing alongside or instead of H-1B.
How do I find companies that actively sponsor visas for AI product design roles?
Browse Migrate Mate, which filters job listings specifically for visa-sponsoring employers. Beyond that, DOL Labor Condition Application disclosure data is publicly searchable and shows which companies have filed LCAs for product design and UX titles in recent years. Large technology companies, AI-focused startups with institutional funding, and enterprise software companies are the most consistent sponsors for this role category.
What happens to my H-1B sponsorship if I want to change employers after getting the visa?
H-1B portability allows you to start working for a new sponsor as soon as your new employer files an H-1B transfer petition, without waiting for approval, provided your current H-1B was approved and you've maintained valid status. Your new employer files a fresh I-129 petition. There's no need to go through the lottery again if you're already in H-1B status. The transfer process typically takes a few weeks, though premium processing can speed up the formal approval.
What is the prevailing wage requirement for sponsored Senior AI Product Designer jobs?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
