Senior Level Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a senior level vocational rehabilitation counselor job?
Employers at this level look for a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) credential, deep experience managing complex disability cases, and a demonstrated ability to supervise staff or lead clinical programs. Candidates who stand out typically bring a record of program outcomes, familiarity with federal and state vocational rehabilitation systems, and the ability to train and mentor junior counselors alongside a full caseload.
Which companies hire senior level vocational rehabilitation counselors?
Companies hiring senior level vocational rehabilitation counselors right now include Lerch Bates, Didlake, and Resilient Health, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level tends to come from state vocational rehabilitation agencies, large nonprofit disability services organizations, federal contractors, and healthcare systems running occupational health or return-to-work programs.
Are there remote senior level vocational rehabilitation counselor jobs?
Yes, though availability varies by employer and caseload type. About 0% of senior level vocational rehabilitation counselor openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with fully remote roles most common in telephonic case management and federal contractor positions where clients are served across multiple states rather than a single physical location.
What makes a vocational rehabilitation counselor role senior level?
Senior level roles go beyond direct counseling to include owning program outcomes, supervising or mentoring less experienced staff, and contributing to policy or service delivery decisions. Counselors at this stage typically manage the highest-complexity cases, serve as a clinical resource for their team, and may lead quality assurance, training initiatives, or cross-agency partnerships that a mid-level counselor would not be expected to handle independently.
Which industries hire the most senior level vocational rehabilitation counselors?
Senior Level vocational rehabilitation counselor roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Education, and Non-Profit & Social Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Those sectors drive hiring at this level because they operate large disability services programs, manage federally funded return-to-work mandates, or require seasoned counselors to oversee compliance and serve populations with complex medical, behavioral, or vocational needs.
