- Own the enterprise product vision and technology strategy, delivering a platform that is scalable, secure, and built to drive segment growth and client revenue impact.
- Lead end-to-end product lifecycle management: disciplined prioritization, NPD stage-gates, and ROI-driven investment decisions aligned with segment strategy and revenue targets. Over time, co-develop product strategy with Segment Owners as the segment model matures.
- Ensure high-quality, on-time delivery through strong engineering execution, Agile/DevOps leadership, and rigorous standards for uptime, performance, and security.
- Drive the company's cloud infrastructure evolution, data architecture integration, AI enablement, and payments technology alignment to support scalability, analytics, and future innovation.
- Build and develop a product and engineering organization capable of executing against a multi-year modernization roadmap while continuing to ship features that win and retain clients.
- Own the product roadmap: sequencing, feature prioritization, and release governance across all products.
- Define product requirements, user journeys, launch approach/phasing and acceptance criteria
- Define the product development process and go/no-go decisions
- Approve engineering investment allocation across product initiatives and modernization efforts
Minimum Qualifications:
- 12+ years of experience in product development, technology strategy, and owning the product roadmap

- Strong product management team leadership and talent development
- Demonstrated experience scaling cloud-based infrastructure
- Data architecture and analytics integration capability
- Ability to translate client needs into scalable product solutions
- Product management leadership and prioritization discipline

VP Of Product Jobs in California: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a vp of product in California?
The path to a vp of product role in California typically runs through progressive product management experience, starting as an individual contributor PM, advancing to senior PM, then group or director-level leadership before reaching VP. California's technology-heavy market rewards candidates who have shipped products at scale, ideally within a recognizable consumer or enterprise software company. There is no state-issued license required, but an MBA or a degree in computer science strengthens candidacy at most Bay Area and Los Angeles employers.
Which companies hire vp of products in California?
Employers hiring vp of products in California right now include Salesforce, Match, and Nitra, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. California's concentration of technology headquarters means a large share of these openings are at companies building their own software platforms rather than deploying third-party tools.
Which California cities have the most vp of product jobs?
San Francisco, Palo Alto, and Fremont have the most vp of product openings in California. San Francisco and the broader Bay Area dominate because of the density of venture-backed startups and major technology headquarters there, while Los Angeles reflects a growing base of consumer tech, media, and fintech companies, and San Diego draws from its biotech and cybersecurity sectors.
Are there remote vp of product jobs in California?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 45% of vp of product openings tied to California are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting the desk-based and strategic nature of the role. Fully remote arrangements are most common for companies that are distributed-first or post-series B startups, while in-office expectations tend to apply at late-stage companies and public technology firms with California headquarters.
How can I get hired as a vp of product in California with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path for candidates without VP-level experience is moving up internally after proving impact as a director or group product manager at a California technology company. Large employers like Oracle, Adobe, and Cisco hire associate and mid-level PMs through rotational and new-graduate programs, which can accelerate the path to leadership. Building a portfolio of shipped features, leading cross-functional initiatives, or completing an MBA at a California business school can close the experience gap faster than tenure alone.
Where can I find and apply to vp of product jobs in California?
You can find and apply to vp of product jobs in California on Migrate Mate, which lists current California openings from employers actively hiring. Find roles that fit your experience and apply directly to each one without creating an account or signing up.
