Account Coordinator Jobs in New York: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become an account coordinator in New York?
Most account coordinator positions in New York require a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, advertising, or a related field. New York does not issue a state license for this role, so the path runs through education and agency or corporate internships. Candidates who complete internships at New York agencies or media companies and build a portfolio of campaign support work are consistently preferred by hiring managers over those without hands-on experience.
Which companies hire account coordinators in New York?
Employers hiring account coordinators in New York right now include Jelli, Albany Medical Center, and Deutsche Bank, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. New York's dense concentration of global advertising agencies, financial services firms, and media conglomerates means account coordinator demand remains steady across industries throughout the year.
Which New York cities have the most account coordinator jobs?
New York, Rochester, and Albany have the most account coordinator openings in New York. New York City dominates because it is home to the headquarters of most major advertising holding companies, media networks, and financial services firms that rely heavily on account teams, while Buffalo and Albany draw openings from regional agencies, healthcare marketing departments, and state government contractors.
Are there remote account coordinator jobs in New York?
Yes, and more than many roles, since account coordination is primarily desk-based work involving client communication, project tracking, and campaign management. About 26% of account coordinator openings tied to New York are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting how adaptable the role has become since agencies normalized distributed teams. Campaign trafficking, status reporting, and internal coordination tasks are the functions most commonly performed fully remotely.
How can I get hired as an account coordinator in New York with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is completing an agency or corporate marketing internship while finishing your degree, as New York firms including large holding companies and mid-size independent agencies hire interns directly into coordinator roles. Adjacent starting points include marketing assistant, project coordinator, or media planning assistant roles at New York media companies or healthcare marketing departments. A portfolio showing campaign timelines, client briefs, or social content coordination gives candidates without formal account experience a concrete edge in interviews.
Where can I find and apply to account coordinator jobs in New York?
You can find and apply to account coordinator jobs in New York on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across New York City, Albany, Buffalo, and other markets statewide. Find the roles that fit your experience and apply directly.
