Accounting Manager Jobs in Phoenix: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a accounting manager job in Phoenix?
The strongest path into an accounting manager role in Phoenix is through the city's dominant sectors: healthcare systems, commercial real estate firms, and regional financial services companies concentrated in Downtown Phoenix, Tempe, and Scottsdale. Candidates with public accounting experience at a regional CPA firm, combined with ERP system proficiency, tend to stand out. Networking through the Arizona Society of CPAs also opens doors to local hiring managers directly.
Which companies hire accounting managers in Phoenix?
Companies currently hiring accounting managers in Phoenix include PwC, Advatix, and Meriton, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Phoenix's employer mix skews heavily toward healthcare networks, homebuilders, and professional services firms, all of which maintain sizable internal accounting teams.
Are there remote accounting manager jobs in Phoenix?
Yes, though partially: accounting manager roles are less remote-friendly than pure analyst positions because of close collaboration with AP, AR, and payroll teams. About 52% of accounting manager openings tied to Phoenix are remote or hybrid as of August 2026. The hybrid arrangements most common in Phoenix typically allow remote work for reporting and analysis tasks while requiring on-site presence during month-end close.
How can I get a accounting manager job in Phoenix with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Phoenix is moving up from a senior accountant role inside one of the city's large healthcare systems or homebuilding companies, which regularly promote from within. Targeting staff accountant positions at regional CPA firms in Scottsdale or Tempe builds the supervisory exposure hiring managers expect. Volunteering for month-end close ownership or mentoring junior staff in your current role strengthens a promotion case considerably.
Which industries hire the most accounting managers in Phoenix?
The sectors hiring the most accounting managers in Phoenix are Insurance and Telecommunications, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Phoenix's rapid population growth and active commercial construction market keep demand for accounting managers high across both established corporations and regional mid-market firms headquartered in the metro.
