AI Program Manager Jobs in Pennsylvania: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a ai program manager in Pennsylvania?
Most ai program managers in Pennsylvania enter the role with a bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, engineering, or a related field, combined with experience delivering technology programs. Pennsylvania employers broadly recognize the PMP credential from the Project Management Institute as a baseline qualification, and many also value AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure AI certifications. Candidates typically progress from technical project coordinator or business analyst roles before stepping into an ai program manager position.
Which companies hire ai program managers in Pennsylvania?
Employers hiring ai program managers in Pennsylvania right now include Penn State University, Merck, and EXL, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Pennsylvania's mix of large health systems, defense primes, and financial services firms means ai program manager openings appear across a wide range of industries rather than being concentrated in a single sector.
Which Pennsylvania cities have the most ai program manager jobs?
Pittsburgh, University Park, and West Point account for the largest share of ai program manager openings in Pennsylvania. Philadelphia drives volume through its concentration of health systems, financial institutions, and technology firms, Pittsburgh contributes through its university-affiliated AI research ecosystem and robotics industry, and Harrisburg adds openings linked to state agency digital transformation initiatives and defense-adjacent contractors in the region.
Are there remote ai program manager jobs in Pennsylvania?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 45% of ai program manager openings tied to Pennsylvania are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the desk-based and collaborative nature of program management work. The portions of the role most commonly performed remotely include stakeholder reporting, roadmap planning, and vendor coordination, while on-site attendance is more often required during major program launches or executive reviews.
How can I get hired as a ai program manager in Pennsylvania with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving from a technical project coordinator or business analyst role into an ai program manager position as your organization expands its AI initiatives. Large Pennsylvania employers such as Comcast, Highmark Health, and UPMC run rotational technology programs and associate program manager tracks that accept candidates with limited direct AI experience. Building familiarity with AI tooling, earning a Google Project Management Certificate or an entry-level cloud AI credential, and contributing to internal process improvement projects strengthens your candidacy considerably.
Where can I find and apply to ai program manager jobs in Pennsylvania?
You can find and apply to ai program manager jobs in Pennsylvania on Migrate Mate, which lists current Pennsylvania openings across industries and experience levels. Search the listings, find roles that fit your background and location preference, and apply directly to the ones that match.
