AI Program Manager Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a ai program manager in Texas?
Most ai program managers in Texas enter the role through a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or engineering, followed by experience managing technical projects. Texas does not require a state-issued license for this role, but employers widely expect a PMP or PMI-ACP certification from the Project Management Institute. Candidates who build a portfolio of AI or ML delivery projects and gain experience at Texas technology firms or defense contractors move into the role most reliably.
Which companies hire ai program managers in Texas?
Employers hiring ai program managers in Texas right now include Apple, Motorola Solutions, and Shield AI, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's concentration of defense contractors, enterprise software companies, and large financial institutions means hiring activity stays consistent year-round across the Austin, Dallas, and Houston corridors.
Which Texas cities have the most ai program manager jobs?
Austin, Dallas, and Houston have the most ai program manager openings in Texas. Austin drives volume through its dense cluster of technology company headquarters and AI-focused startups, Dallas attracts hiring from financial services, telecommunications, and enterprise software firms, and Houston's energy sector and NASA-adjacent aerospace industry add steady demand for program managers overseeing AI integration projects.
Are there remote ai program manager jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 14% of ai program manager openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting how thoroughly desk-based this work is. The parts of the role most likely to stay fully remote are stakeholder reporting, roadmap planning, and vendor coordination, while roles tied to classified government or defense contracts typically require on-site presence in the Dallas or Houston areas.
How can I get hired as a ai program manager in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving laterally from a technical coordinator, business analyst, or software QA role into a junior or associate program manager position. Large Texas employers such as Dell, AT&T, and Texas Instruments run rotational associate programs and internal development tracks that bring in candidates without formal program management titles. Earning a CAPM certification from the Project Management Institute strengthens early applications, and contributing to an AI or data project in any capacity, even in a support role, gives candidates a concrete talking point that Texas hiring managers consistently ask about.
Where can I find and apply to ai program manager jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to ai program manager jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings updated regularly. Search for roles that match your experience level and location preference, then apply directly to the ones that fit. No sign-up is required to see the listings.
