AI Solutions Engineer Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a ai solutions engineer in Texas?
The most direct path is a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field, followed by hands-on experience with AI tools and cloud platforms. Texas has no state-issued license for this role, so employers rely on demonstrated technical skills and certifications from vendors like Microsoft, AWS, or Google. Building a project portfolio and contributing to open-source AI work strengthens candidacy considerably in the Texas market.
How much do AI solutions engineers make in Texas?
AI solutions engineers in Texas earn a median of about $132,150 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $82,600 for the lowest 10% to over $183,680 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire ai solutions engineers in Texas?
Employers hiring ai solutions engineers in Texas right now include Amazon Web Services, HP, and AMD, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Texas's large enterprise technology, defense, and energy sectors mean demand is spread across both global corporations and fast-growing regional firms headquartered in the state.
Which Texas cities have the most ai solutions engineer jobs?
Austin, Dallas, and Houston account for the largest share of ai solutions engineer openings in Texas. Dallas-Fort Worth's dense concentration of corporate headquarters and technology services firms drives the bulk of listings, while Austin's established tech sector and Houston's energy and aerospace industries sustain consistent demand across the state.
Are there remote ai solutions engineer jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 67% of ai solutions engineer openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the desk-based, cloud-centered nature of the work.
