Analytics Consultant Jobs in Chicago: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a analytics consultant job in Chicago?
Start by targeting the sectors that dominate Chicago hiring: financial services firms in the Loop, health systems on the Near North Side, and management consulting shops across River North and Fulton Market. Candidates who can demonstrate experience with SQL, Tableau, or Python get more callbacks in Chicago's data-heavy finance and consulting practices. Networking through local analytics and data science meetups also opens doors that online applications alone rarely do.
Which companies hire analytics consultants in Chicago?
Companies currently hiring analytics consultants in Chicago include Deloitte, TransUnion, and ZS Associates, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Chicago's employer mix leans heavily toward professional services firms, insurance carriers, healthcare systems, and mid-market companies headquartered in the downtown core and nearby suburbs.
Are there remote analytics consultant jobs in Chicago?
Yes, analytics consultant work is well-suited to remote arrangements given its desk-based, data-driven nature. About 65% of analytics consultant openings tied to Chicago are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting the city's strong consulting and tech employer base. Client-facing deliverable work and stakeholder presentations are the parts most likely to require occasional in-office or on-site presence in Chicago.
How can I get a analytics consultant job in Chicago with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Chicago is landing a junior analyst or data analyst role at a mid-size consulting firm or a large employer like a healthcare system or insurance company, which regularly hire entry-level talent for structured rotational programs. Building proficiency in Excel, SQL, and one visualization tool gives candidates a concrete edge. Chicago's density of corporate headquarters and regional offices also means business analyst contract roles frequently convert to full-time analytics consultant positions.
