What You’ll Do
Are you passionate about turning complex investment data into meaningful insights that drive high-impact decisions? As an Investment Partnerships Senior Transactional and Reporting Analyst, you’ll play a critical role within the Investment Partnerships team, managing the administration, reporting, and analytics for a large, sophisticated portfolio of private market investments.
In this role, you’ll partner closely with senior leaders, fund managers, and investors—owning complex reporting, overseeing transaction activity, and enhancing systems that support more than 1,500 investments. Your work will directly influence investment visibility, operational efficiency, and investor confidence.
- Advanced Analytics & Reporting: Build, maintain, and continuously improve complex cash flow models and portfolio-wide reporting frameworks to deliver actionable insights across 1,500+ investments.
- Performance Measurement: Calculate and analyze key metrics such as Internal Rate of Return (IRR), investment multiples, and Public Market Equivalent (PME) to evaluate fund and investor performance.
- Valuation & Waterfall Modeling: Apply sophisticated valuation methodologies and multi-tiered waterfall structures to translate gross investment performance into net investor outcomes.
- Executive Reporting: Develop and enhance reporting packages for senior leadership and the Investment Committee, combining performance results with clear, decision-ready analysis.
- Investor Reporting: Prepare quarterly reports for ~1,300 investors, including capital account statements, performance analytics, and responses to investor inquiries.
- Tax & Allocation Analysis: Support tax reporting processes (including Schedule K-1 (K-1)), analyze special allocations, and address withholding considerations for non-U.S. investors.
- Transaction Oversight: Coordinate high-volume capital calls (75+ weekly) and distributions (50+ weekly), ensuring accuracy and timeliness across all activity.
- Cash & Liquidity Management: Monitor fund liquidity, manage cash balances, and perform reconciliations across multiple accounts and high-volume transaction environments.
- Data Integrity & Systems: Lead data validation, reconciliation, and database management efforts, including system upgrades, migrations, and reporting tool enhancements.
- Process Improvement: Document, streamline, and scale processes to improve efficiency, reduce risk, and strengthen institutional knowledge.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal teams (finance, tax, payroll) and external fund managers to ensure seamless data flow and issue resolution.
- Leadership & Mentorship: Provide guidance to junior team members and contribute to a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
What You’ll Bring
The successful candidate will have 7+ years of progressive experience in private markets, investment reporting, or financial analytics within an investment adviser, private equity firm, hedge fund, fund-of-funds platform, family office, or a comparable institutional investment environment.
- Demonstrated experience should include increasing ownership of complex reporting, modeling, and valuation processes.
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related fields is required. A thorough knowledge of accounting principles and methods of accounting analysis are essential.
- Financial Modeling Expertise: Advanced skills in cash flow modeling, forecasting, scenario analysis, and ongoing model validation.
- Private Markets Knowledge: Strong understanding of investment structures, capital call and distribution mechanics, and performance measurement in private equity or similar asset classes.
- Analytical Strength: Ability to synthesize large, complex datasets into clear insights that inform senior-level decision-making.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced Excel skills and experience with investment reporting systems and databases (e.g., Dynamo, EquityWorks, or similar platforms).
- Data & Systems Mindset: Knowledge of data governance, database concepts, and experience implementing and testing reporting tools and system enhancements.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional accuracy and quality control in high-volume, deadline-driven environments.
- Communication Skills: Ability to clearly present complex financial concepts to partners, stakeholders, and investors.
- Collaboration & Ownership: A proactive, self-driven approach with strong cross-functional partnership skills and a track record of improving processes and outcomes.

Compensation
The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position in Chicago. This range may differ based on your geographic location and cost of living considerations. At Kirkland & Ellis, we consider compensation more than just a base salary. Compensation Range:
Chicago: $120,000 - $145,000
