Reporting Analyst Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a reporting analyst in Texas?
A bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, or information systems is the standard entry point for reporting analyst roles in Texas. There is no state-issued license required for the role. Most Texas employers expect demonstrated proficiency in SQL, Excel, and at least one business intelligence tool such as Power BI or Tableau. Certifications like the Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst Associate or a Tableau Desktop Specialist credential are widely recognized and strengthen a candidacy.
Which companies hire reporting analysts in Texas?
Employers hiring reporting analysts in Texas right now include Goldman Sachs, PepsiCo, and Hewlett Packard Enterprise | HPE, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's concentration of corporate headquarters, financial institutions, and healthcare networks means demand is spread across industries rather than concentrated in a single sector.
Which Texas cities have the most reporting analyst jobs?
Dallas, Houston, and Plano have the most reporting analyst openings in Texas. Dallas leads due to its dense cluster of Fortune 500 headquarters and financial services firms, Houston drives volume through its energy sector and large hospital systems, and Austin contributes a growing share tied to technology companies and state government agencies that have expanded their analytics functions in recent years.
