Applications Analyst Jobs in Washington: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a applications analyst in Washington?
Most applications analyst roles in Washington require a bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, or business administration with a technology focus. Washington does not issue a state license for this role, so hiring decisions center on demonstrated application support experience and relevant certifications such as CompTIA, Microsoft, or SAP credentials. Many candidates build their foundation in helpdesk or IT support roles before moving into applications analyst positions at Washington's large technology, healthcare, or government employers.
How much do applications analysts make in Washington?
Applications analysts in Washington earn a median of about $129,410 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $74,470 for the lowest 10% to over $197,600 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire applications analysts in Washington?
Employers hiring applications analysts in Washington right now include Providence, Nuvodia, and New Health, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Washington's deep concentration of technology headquarters, major hospital networks, and aerospace firms means sustained demand for analysts who can support complex enterprise application environments.
Which Washington cities have the most applications analyst jobs?
Washington State, Renton, and Spokane have the most applications analyst openings in Washington. Seattle and Bellevue lead because of the region's dense cluster of technology companies and large healthcare systems, while Redmond's concentration of enterprise software employers drives consistent demand for analysts who support and administer complex application environments at scale.
Are there remote applications analyst jobs in Washington?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 75% of applications analyst openings tied to Washington are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how much of the work involves configuring, testing, and supporting software systems that analysts can access from anywhere. Tasks tied to stakeholder training or on-site system rollouts are most likely to require in-person presence.
How can I get hired as a applications analyst in Washington with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving from a helpdesk technician or IT support specialist role, where you gain direct exposure to the enterprise applications that analysts manage. Large Washington employers like Washington State agencies, UW Medicine, and major technology firms regularly hire associate or junior systems support staff and promote from within. Building proficiency in a widely used platform such as Workday, Salesforce, or ServiceNow and earning a vendor certification strengthens an application considerably for candidates without prior analyst experience.
Where can I find and apply to applications analyst jobs in Washington?
You can find and apply to applications analyst jobs in Washington on Migrate Mate, which lists current Washington openings across industries and experience levels. Find the roles that fit your background and apply directly to the employers posting them.
