Architect Jobs in Colorado Springs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an architect job in Colorado Springs?
Focus your search on Colorado Springs firms serving defense contractors, commercial developers, and the city's active residential construction sector. The strongest opportunities concentrate downtown, in the Briargate corridor, and along the Powers Boulevard growth belt. Candidates who can show experience with mixed-use or government-adjacent projects stand out locally, as do those familiar with high-altitude site and building considerations specific to the Pikes Peak region.
Which companies hire architects in Colorado Springs?
Colorado Springs architect roles are posted by Northrop Grumman, Virginia Tech Applied Research Corporation, and RS&H and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. The local market includes design-build firms, regional AE studios, and government-adjacent contractors tied to the military installations and federal agencies concentrated in the area.
Are there remote architect jobs in Colorado Springs?
Yes, though with limits, since most architect roles require site visits, client meetings, or collaboration that anchors some work on-site. About 50% of architect openings tied to Colorado Springs are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, and the remote-eligible portions tend to be design development, drafting, and project coordination work rather than construction administration.
How can I get an architect job in Colorado Springs with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Colorado Springs is through architectural internships or drafter roles at local design-build firms and mid-size AE studios, which hire emerging professionals more readily than large national firms. Entry-level candidates who know Revit and have any exposure to commercial or multifamily projects common in the Briargate and Powers Boulevard corridors get a practical edge, as do those who have completed NCARB IDP hours during school.
