Architect Jobs in Denver: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a architect job in Denver?
Focus on Denver's strongest hiring sectors: commercial mixed-use development, municipal and civic projects, and the city's ongoing transit-oriented development around Union Station and the RTD corridors. Firms in LoDo and RiNo tend to favor candidates with LEED accreditation and experience in urban infill or adaptive reuse. A portfolio that shows Denver-scale projects, even through academic or internship work, gives you a concrete edge in local interviews.
Which companies hire architects in Denver?
Denver architect roles are posted by Blue Origin, Amazon Web Services, and JFrog and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. The local market includes regional design studios, national AEC firms with Denver offices, and public-sector agencies tied to city planning and transit infrastructure.
Are there remote architect jobs in Denver?
Yes, though architect work is less remote-friendly than many professions because site visits, client presentations, and construction coordination are inherently on-site. About 92% of architect openings tied to Denver are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, with most flexible arrangements covering design development and documentation phases. Roles at tech-forward firms in RiNo tend to offer the most hybrid flexibility locally.
How can I get a architect job in Denver with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Denver is through architectural internships at mid-size commercial studios or through assistant roles with city and county planning departments, both of which hire regularly. Entry-level candidates with AutoCAD, Revit, or BIM skills and a portfolio showing any local project context, even academic work set in Denver, move faster through screening. Volunteering with Denver Community Planning and Development review processes also builds relevant local exposure.
Which industries hire the most architects in Denver?
Most architect openings in Denver sit in Technology & Software and Healthcare & Medical Services, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Denver's sustained population growth, active transit expansion, and city-led affordable housing initiatives keep construction pipelines in those sectors consistently active.
