Part-time Contract Los Angeles Immigration Law Attorney - $150.00-$200.00/hour
Requirements:
· Licensed attorney in good standing with NO disciplinary history in ANY state. (We will check.)
· Lead attorney position: must be a self-starter who can run all aspects of their cases.
· Minimum of 3 years immigration law experience; strong knowledge of immigration law procedures and court rules; individual/family-based and employment-based immigration.
· Experience with removals is a plus.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Must be very responsive and empathetic to clients.
· Detail-oriented with very strong organizational skills.
· Candidate located (resides) within reasonable travel distance of Los Angeles courts. Candidate must be able to meet with clients in person if needed (we are Zoom/phone when possible) and appear in court.
· Pay Range Explained: We have work that we bill at hourly rates and we pay $150.00 per hour for that work. We also have work that we bill at flat fee rates. We pay you 50% of the flat fee for that work - our goal is that the pay you receive for the flat fee cases works out to at least $200/hour on average for your time spent on flat fee matters (e.g., if you receive $2,000 flat fee, our goal is that the case will not have taken more than 10 hours of your time so you make $200/hour).
Duties:
· The successful candidate will possess the skills and desire to run all aspects of their cases and handle a wide variety of immigration law matters for a diverse population of clients.
· No minimum billed-hours requirement.
· Must be able to work remotely.
· Knowledge of Clio legal software a plus.
· Additional practice areas may be available for work: family law, estate planning, criminal law, general civil litigation, and others.
