Flora Legal Group is an Indianapolis-based immigration firm committed to serving the immigrant community. We are seeking a hybrid Associate Attorney (EOIR: Non-Detained and Detained Docket Team) with a heart and passion to help immigrants and a desire to thrive in a large, team-oriented immigration practice. The successful candidate will represent non-detained clients in master calendar and individual calendar hearings and represent detained clients in bond hearings, master calendar hearings, and individual calendar hearings (conducted primarily via WebEx). Spanish fluency is required for direct detained client communication.

Key Responsibilities:

• Represents non-detained clients in master calendar and individual calendar hearings before the Chicago Immigration Court, working closely with other associates in the Chicago area to coordinate hearing coverage;
• Serves as a mentor to more junior Chicago-based associates, including feedback and guidance;
• Represents detained clients in bond hearings, master calendar hearings, and individual calendar hearings, primarily via WebEx;
• Prepares and files bond motions, applications for relief, and supporting documentation within the compressed timeframes of the detained docket;
• Collaborates with the non-detained docket team and the detained docket team to manage case flow;
• Handles and follows cases from inception to completion within stipulated timeframes;
• Completes all tasks in case management software by due date;
• Enters information in case management software (Clio) in a timely manner, including notes, client correspondence, hours utilized, and matter updates;
• Time tracks hours worked in accordance with the firm’s time tracking policy.

Qualifications:

• Must be a licensed attorney in good standing to apply; Juris Doctorate required.
• 5+ years applicable immigration experience preferred; at least 2 years required.
• Native or non-native C1/C2 fluency in Spanish (reading, writing, speaking) required.
• Must have experience managing a large caseload.
• Demonstrated success training and mentoring others.
• Passion for immigration law and to help people from all walks of life.
• Have excellent communication skills.
• Be self-motivated, intellectually curious, and possess a strong work ethic.

*Salary range is based on years and depth of experience.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
