Auditor Jobs in Indianapolis: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an auditor job in Indianapolis?
The strongest path is targeting Indianapolis's concentrated healthcare systems, regional banks, insurance carriers, and government agencies, which consistently post audit roles. Internal audit and compliance positions at Indianapolis's large hospital networks and financial institutions are particularly active. Candidates with a CPA, CIA, or experience in healthcare or financial services compliance stand out in this market. Networking through local IIA chapter events in Indianapolis also opens doors that job boards alone won't.
Which companies hire auditors in Indianapolis?
Companies currently hiring auditors in Indianapolis include Sikich, Labcorp, and CLEAResult, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Indianapolis's audit market is anchored by major healthcare systems, insurance companies, and regional financial institutions headquartered downtown and in the surrounding north-side suburbs.
Are there remote auditor jobs in Indianapolis?
Yes, though availability depends on the audit type. Desk-based roles in IT audit, financial statement review, and compliance monitoring are more remote-friendly, while internal audit positions requiring physical inventory counts or on-site walkthroughs remain largely in person. About 0% of auditor openings tied to Indianapolis are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, with remote work most common among Indianapolis-based insurance and financial services employers.
How can I get an auditor job in Indianapolis with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point in Indianapolis is an audit associate or staff auditor role at one of the regional public accounting firms or the Big Four offices downtown. Indianapolis's large healthcare networks and state government agencies also hire entry-level internal audit analysts who support senior auditors on compliance projects. A degree in accounting or finance plus exposure to Excel-based analysis helps considerably, and internships with local firms or through Indiana University's Kelley School of Business alumni network carry real weight with Indianapolis employers.
Which industries hire the most auditors in Indianapolis?
Most auditor openings in Indianapolis sit in Consulting & Professional Services, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Indianapolis's role as a hub for major insurance carriers, large hospital networks, and state government operations makes it a consistent source of audit demand across both public accounting and internal audit functions.
