Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Auto Body Estimator to join our collision repair team. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of collision repair processes, OEM repair procedures, and insurance claim workflows. This role is responsible for accurately assessing vehicle damage, creating complete and compliant repair plans, and guiding customers through the repair process with professionalism and transparency.
The Auto Body Estimator plays a critical role in repair quality, cycle time, profitability, and customer satisfaction, ensuring all repairs meet manufacturer and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform thorough damage analysis and blueprinting of vehicles involved in collisions
- Create accurate, complete repair estimates using industry-standard estimating systems (CCC ONE, Mitchell)
- Identify structural, safety, and hidden damage in accordance with OEM repair procedures
- Communicate clearly with customers regarding repair scope, timelines, and insurance processes
- Work closely with production managers, technicians, parts departments, and insurance adjusters to ensure repair accuracy and efficiency
- Research and document OEM repair procedures, position statements, and required operations
- Ensure all repairs comply with manufacturer specifications, safety standards, and industry best practices
- Maintain organized documentation including photos, notes, supplements, and customer communications
- Support repair quality, cycle time, and gross profit goals through accurate estimating and repair planning
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Auto Body Estimator / Collision Repair Estimator
- Strong understanding of collision repair methods, materials, and OEM procedures
- Experience working with insurance claims, supplements, and adjuster negotiations
- Proficiency with estimating software (CCC ONE preferred)
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills
- Commitment to repair quality, safety, and customer satisfaction
