Automation Jobs in Orlando: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a automation job in Orlando?
Focus on Orlando's strongest hiring sectors: aerospace and defense contractors near the Space Coast corridor, theme park operations and entertainment technology along International Drive, and the advanced manufacturing clusters around the airport and in east Orange County. Candidates who can demonstrate hands-on PLC programming, robotics integration, or industrial controls experience stand out here. Targeting mid-size defense suppliers and attractions technology firms often yields faster results than pursuing the largest employers directly.
Which companies hire automations in Orlando?
Companies currently hiring automations in Orlando include Siemens Energy, UST, and Rexel, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Orlando's hiring base is a mix of large aerospace and defense primes, theme park operations teams, and growing advanced manufacturing firms in the eastern suburbs.
Are there remote automation jobs in Orlando?
Yes, though with limits: automation work is often tied to physical equipment and production floors, making fully remote roles less common than in purely desk-based fields. About 20% of automation openings tied to Orlando are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, skewing toward roles in controls engineering design, system integration planning, and technical project management rather than hands-on installation or maintenance positions.
How can I get a automation job in Orlando with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Orlando is through technician or maintenance associate roles at the city's manufacturing and attractions facilities, where employers regularly promote from within once you demonstrate mechanical and electrical aptitude. Valencia College's engineering technology programs have direct relationships with local employers and offer a practical credential that carries weight with Orlando hiring managers. Entry-level roles in facilities maintenance, electrical helpers, or production support at companies in the Lake Nona or airport industrial areas frequently serve as a stepping stone into dedicated automation positions.
Which industries hire the most automations in Orlando?
Orlando automation roles concentrate in Manufacturing and Construction & Real Estate, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. The combination of Orlando's large aerospace and defense presence, its globally significant theme park and attractions industry, and its expanding life sciences campus at Lake Nona creates sustained local demand across all three sectors.
