Key Position Details:
As part of our growing Behavioral Neurology and Dementia Program, you will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team that includes neurologists, neuropsychologists, rehabilitation specialists, geriatricians, social workers, and palliative care experts. You’ll have the opportunity to influence care models, participate in research, and educate both colleagues and the community about neurodegenerative diseases.
We are seeking a Neurologist with fellowship training in Dementia, Cognitive Neurology, Geriatric Neurology, or Cognitive-Behavioral Neurology—or a general neurologist with a passion for dementia care—to join our hospital-based clinic at Abbott Northwestern Hospital, the quaternary care hub of Allina Health.

Job Description:
Principle Responsibilities
- Diagnoses, treats and consults patients who have impaired memory function or other neurocognitive disease.
- Examines patient’s mental and physical status, conduct medical tests and scans, and evaluate the results to diagnose and treat the patient.
- Reviews patient's medical history while collecting, prioritizing, and synthesizing comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or situation.
- Evaluates, interprets, and coordinates information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care.
- Provides education, consultation or intervention to patients (treatment plan) and their families.
- Works collaboratively with patients to improve their health and well-being.
- Practices in a thoughtful manner including consideration for cultural diversity, individual autonomy and legal responsibilities.
- Participates in neuroscience research activities.
- Charts in electronic format in accordance with licensure and scope.
- Actively participates in multidisciplinary team approach to case management.
- Responsible for providing care in the outpatient setting.
Quality
- Utilizes quality improvement tools to develop processes that promote continuous improvement in delivery of patient care, patient outcomes, or work flows.
- May participate in peer review and quality assurance.
Job Requirements
- MD, DO, or foreign equivalency training required
- BE/BC with ABMS or AOA required
- Fellowship training in Dementia, Geriatric Neurology, Cognitive Neurology, Cognitive-Behavioral Neurology OR strong interest in Dementia required
- Active, non-restricted medical license in MN (or ability to obtain)
- Ability to obtain and/or maintain MN DEA certification and National Provider Identifier (NPI)
- Ability to meet criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and hospital privileges, if applicable
Physical Demands
Medium Work:
Lifting weight Up to 32 lbs. occasionally (Allina Safe Patient Moving Policy), Up to 25 lbs. frequently
Pay Range
Pay Range: $338,310 to $375,900 per year
The pay described reflects the starting base pay range, assuming a full-time FTE. Your starting rate will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable).
