Murtis Taylor Human Services System is seeking a motivated, analytical, and mission-driven Quality Improvement Specialist / Client Rights Officer to join our Quality Improvement team.

You will play an important role in strengthening clinical documentation, preparing the organization for audits and accreditation reviews, reducing compliance risk, and protecting the rights of the individuals and families we serve.

As the organization’s Client Rights Officer, you will also serve as a trusted and impartial resource, ensuring that client concerns are heard, investigated, and resolved with fairness, dignity, and respect.
What You Will Do
- Conduct clinical documentation audits and compliance reviews.
- Review assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, service authorizations, discharge summaries, and other clinical records.
- Identify documentation concerns, compliance risks, and opportunities to strengthen service quality.
- Translate audit findings and performance data into practical recommendations.
- Develop reports, dashboards, audit summaries, and quality improvement findings for leadership.
- Monitor corrective action plans and help ensure improvements are sustained.
- Support Medicaid audits, licensing reviews, CARF surveys, and regulatory inspections.
- Analyze clinical and operational data to identify trends and measure performance.
- Review incident reports and participate in root cause analysis and risk-reduction efforts.
- Investigate client complaints and grievances in a timely, impartial, and confidential manner.
- Educate staff on client rights, documentation expectations, compliance, and quality improvement.
- Collaborate with leaders and staff across multiple programs to improve systems and outcomes.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in human services or a related field.
- Background or experience in behavioral health, healthcare, human services, or a related environment.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- A keen eye for detail and the ability to identify patterns, risks, and opportunities.
- Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
- Ability to work independently while also building productive relationships across departments.
- A commitment to person-centered, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented care.
Preferred Qualifications
- LSW or LPC licensure.
- Experience with clinical documentation audits, compliance reviews, or quality improvement activities.
- Knowledge of Ohio Medicaid behavioral health documentation requirements.
- Familiarity with CARF standards, licensing reviews, utilization review, risk management, or corrective action plans.
- Experience investigating client grievances or supporting client rights activities.
