Entry Level Bridge Inspector Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level bridge inspector job?
Entry level bridge inspector roles typically look for a degree in civil or structural engineering, construction management, or a related field, though some employers accept relevant coursework or internship experience in its place. Candidates who have completed field internships, earned certifications like the NICET Level I, or built a portfolio of inspection or construction work tend to stand out at this stage.
Which companies hire entry level bridge inspectors?
Companies hiring entry level bridge inspectors right now include Volkert, PRIME AE Group, and Jobot, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level comes from a mix of state and local transportation agencies, engineering consulting firms, and infrastructure contractors that regularly onboard junior inspectors to support project teams.
Are there remote entry level bridge inspector jobs?
Yes, though most bridge inspection work is inherently field-based. About 16% of entry level bridge inspector openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those roles typically involve report writing, data review, or inspection coordination rather than physical site work. Fully remote positions at this level are the exception rather than the rule.
Are these new grad bridge inspector jobs?
Yes, many of these listings are new grad and junior roles that explicitly welcome candidates with zero to two years of experience, recent graduates, and those coming from internships or co-op programs. A new grad posting in this field generally looks for a relevant degree, some field exposure, and a willingness to work on-site, rather than requiring a long professional history.
Which industries hire the most entry level bridge inspectors?
Entry Level bridge inspector roles concentrate in Consulting & Professional Services, Technology & Software, and Staffing & Recruiting, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive hiring at the entry level because ongoing infrastructure maintenance, new construction projects, and regulatory inspection requirements create a steady need for junior inspectors who can be trained and developed on the job.
