Who we are
Neros is a defense technology company rebuilding America's drone industrial base. We design and manufacture high-performance unmanned systems that are tested in combat, iterated at startup speed, and built at massive scale. Our team culture is fast, hands-on, and obsessed with closing the gap between design and deployment.
As drones transform the character of warfare, Neros is delivering the systems the West needs to compete on the modern battlefield and deter the adversaries of democracy. We're hiring engineers, operators, and builders who want to move fast, take on extreme ownership, and get capability into the hands of warfighters in months, not years.
What you will be doing
Build and manage relationships with Army units to accelerate drone adoption on the modern battlefield. You'll own the full sales cycle from initial contact through contract execution and thus coordinate complex field demonstrations, navigate DoD procurement processes, and work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and finance to deliver capability at speed.
You should have the following
- 5+ years in defense business development, program management, or military operations
- Active TS/SCI clearance or ability to obtain one
- Direct experience working with Army units, programs, or operations
- Strong technical fluency with unmanned systems or defense hardware
- Willingness to travel as needed to military bases and field locations
- Exceptional communication skills with military and civilian stakeholders
Nice to have
- Prior Army service
- Proven track record closing DoD contracts ($500K+)
- Experience with DoD procurement vehicles
- Experience with SOCOM
- Relationships within Army acquisition or requirements community
- FAA Part 107 remote pilot certificate
- Experience running field demonstrations or training events
- Knowledge of spectrum management and DoD frequency coordination
US Salary Range
$110,500 - $154,500 USD
The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are considered part of Neros' total compensation package.
We're an equal opportunity employer. We welcome all applicants without attention to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran or disability status.

Business Development Assistant Jobs in Washington: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a business development assistant job in Washington?
Washington's market for business development assistants is heavily shaped by government contracting firms, trade associations, lobbying shops, and federal consulting practices concentrated along K Street and in the Dupont Circle corridor. Candidates who can demonstrate proposal writing experience, familiarity with federal procurement cycles, or backgrounds in policy-adjacent sales support stand out. Networking through association events and Capitol Hill connections moves faster here than cold applications.
Which companies hire business development assistants in Washington?
Employers hiring business development assistants in Washington right now include Esri, Anduril, and CVS Health, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Washington's hiring base skews toward government contractors, national advocacy organizations, consulting firms, and federally focused professional services companies that maintain active BD pipelines year-round.
Are there remote business development assistant jobs in Washington?
Yes, though with limits, since the role often requires coordinating in-person with proposal teams, attending federal agency briefings, or supporting client meetings. About 70% of business development assistant openings tied to Washington are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with research, CRM management, and pipeline tracking being the tasks most commonly performed off-site in this market.
How can I get a business development assistant job in Washington with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point in Washington is a support or coordinator role inside a government contracting firm or a national trade association, both of which routinely hire entry-level staff to assist with proposal coordination and membership outreach. Starting as an administrative or program assistant at a consulting firm in Rosslyn or Bethesda, then moving laterally into BD support, is a common local path. Familiarity with federal agency names and basic procurement terminology gives early-career candidates a concrete edge.
