Business Development Representative Jobs in Boston: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a business development representative job in Boston?
Focus your search on Boston's Seaport District and Back Bay, where SaaS companies, fintech firms, and life sciences organizations cluster their sales teams. Candidates who can demonstrate pipeline experience or familiarity with outbound prospecting tools stand out in this market. A background in technology or healthcare is a practical advantage given Boston's dominant sectors, and networking through local startup communities adds real visibility.
Which companies hire business development representatives in Boston?
Employers hiring business development representatives in Boston right now include Pryzm, Steer, and Epredia, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Boston's mix of enterprise software companies, growth-stage startups, and established financial and healthcare firms means hiring is spread across employer sizes, from well-funded Series B companies in the Seaport to large anchor employers in Back Bay.
Are there remote business development representative jobs in Boston?
Yes, though remote availability is more common for inside sales and outbound prospecting roles than for positions requiring in-person client meetings or team collaboration. About 79% of business development representative openings tied to Boston are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting employer flexibility across the technology and SaaS sectors. Cold outreach and pipeline qualification work translates well to remote arrangements in Boston's tech-heavy hiring market.
How can I get a business development representative job in Boston with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Boston is landing a sales development representative or inside sales role at a growth-stage startup in the Seaport District, where companies routinely hire candidates with strong communication skills over direct sales experience. Boston-area universities feed talent into local tech sales pipelines, so recent graduates with internship exposure have a credible starting point. Highlighting cold outreach practice, CRM familiarity, or any quota-bearing experience, even informal, moves a resume forward.
Which industries hire the most business development representatives in Boston?
Most business development representative openings in Boston sit in Technology & Software, Cybersecurity, and Healthcare & Medical Services, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Boston's concentration of life sciences companies along the Route 128 corridor, enterprise software firms in the Seaport, and financial services institutions in the Financial District makes those three sectors the engine of local demand for this role.
