Business Intelligence Analyst Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a business intelligence analyst in Texas?
Most Texas employers require a bachelor's degree in business analytics, computer science, information systems, or statistics as the foundation for the role. There is no state-issued license for business intelligence analysts in Texas, so credentials like the Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst certification or the Tableau Desktop Specialist carry the most weight in local hiring. Building a portfolio with real datasets and familiarizing yourself with the energy, healthcare, and finance industries that dominate Texas hiring strengthens your candidacy considerably.
How much do business intelligence analysts make in Texas?
Business intelligence analysts in Texas earn a median of about $122,090 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $64,540 for the lowest 10% to over $170,780 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire business intelligence analysts in Texas?
Employers hiring business intelligence analysts in Texas right now include Amazon, Apple, and Daisy Brand, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters, major hospital systems, and large energy companies means sustained, year-round demand for BI talent across the state.
Which Texas cities have the most business intelligence analyst jobs?
Austin, Dallas, and Houston have the most business intelligence analyst openings in Texas. Dallas leads because of its dense cluster of financial services firms, telecom giants, and corporate headquarters, while Austin's fast-growing technology sector drives strong demand there, and Houston's energy and healthcare industries generate consistent openings for analysts who can work with large operational datasets.
Are there remote business intelligence analyst jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 30% of business intelligence analyst openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting how naturally the role lends itself to distributed work. Responsibilities centered on dashboard development, data modeling, and reporting tend to be the most remote-friendly, while roles requiring frequent collaboration with on-site operations or executive teams are more likely to require in-office presence.
How can I get hired as a business intelligence analyst in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a junior or associate analyst role, which large Texas employers in healthcare systems, energy companies, and financial services firms post regularly for candidates with a relevant degree but limited work history. Moving laterally from a data entry, reporting coordinator, or financial analyst position is a common internal route at companies like Texas-based hospital networks and regional banks. Building a portfolio of Power BI or Tableau projects using public datasets and earning a recognized certification significantly improves your odds of clearing initial screening.
Where can I find and apply to business intelligence analyst jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to business intelligence analyst jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings across Dallas, Austin, Houston, and other markets. Find the roles that fit your experience and specialization, then apply directly to the employers posting them.
