Business Intelligence Intern Jobs in Mississippi: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a business intelligence intern in Mississippi?
Most business intelligence intern roles in Mississippi are open to students currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's program in information systems, data analytics, computer science, or business at institutions such as Mississippi State University, the University of Mississippi, or Millsaps College. No state-issued license is required for this role. Employers typically look for completed coursework in SQL, statistics, and data visualization alongside a portfolio project or relevant class assignment that demonstrates applied analytical thinking.
Which companies hire business intelligence interns in Mississippi?
Employers hiring business intelligence interns in Mississippi right now include University of Mississippi Medical Center, ITC, and RMGS, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Mississippi's banking, healthcare, and agriculture sectors generate the most consistent intern demand, particularly for candidates with experience in SQL reporting and dashboard development.
Which Mississippi cities have the most business intelligence intern jobs?
Jackson, Stennis Space Center, and Flowood account for the largest share of business intelligence intern openings in Mississippi. Jackson drives the most volume as the state capital and home to major healthcare systems, financial institutions, and state agency IT departments, while Ridgeland and Hattiesburg attract openings through corporate headquarters and regional university partnerships that feed talent into nearby employers.

The tasks most commonly offered remotely are dashboard development, report automation, and ad hoc data analysis, while on-site presence is more often required for stakeholder meetings and data governance work.

Building a public portfolio on GitHub that includes a SQL project and a Power BI or Tableau dashboard gives a concrete edge over other applicants.
