- Develop clear recommendations for strategic initiatives by assessing alternatives, building business cases, and identifying actions required to implement proposed solutions.
- Synthesize insights and present findings to senior leadership in a clear, structured, and compelling manner.
- Drive operational and revenue optimization initiatives, working with cross-functional teams to improve business models, processes, and service delivery.
- Enable alignment on strategic priorities across key business functions (e.g., vertical teams, marketing, product, engineering, finance, payment operations).
- Lead and support elements of the annual and quarterly planning processes, ensuring teams are aligned on goals, KPIs, and execution plans.
- Build financial impact assessments that capture expected benefits (e.g., revenue growth, margin expansion, cost efficiencies) and required investments.
- Maintain a strong understanding of industry trends, competitive dynamics, and emerging opportunities in the global payments and FinTech ecosystem.
- Partner cross-functionally to drive projects from analysis through execution, ensuring stakeholders are aligned and progress is tracked.

- MBA preferred but not required.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and structured-thinking skills; ability to distill complexity into actionable insights.
- Demonstrated ability to operate in ambiguity, prioritize effectively, and execute with a hands-on, action-oriented mindset.

Business Operations Manager Jobs in Boston: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a business operations manager job in Boston?
Target Boston's densest hiring clusters: the Seaport's biotech and tech firms, Back Bay and Downtown's financial services and consulting offices, and the Longwood Medical Area's healthcare systems. Candidates who stand out locally combine cross-functional project experience with familiarity in at least one of those sectors. Networking through Boston-area industry groups and alumni connections at area universities also opens doors that cold applications rarely do.
Which companies hire business operations managers in Boston?
Boston business operations manager roles are posted by Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Amazon, and State Street and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Boston's employer mix skews toward life sciences companies, asset managers, insurance carriers, and enterprise technology firms, many of which maintain large regional headquarters in the city.
Are there remote business operations manager jobs in Boston?
Yes, though availability depends on the role: analytical and process-improvement positions are more remote-friendly, while operational roles tied to physical facilities or in-person teams are typically on-site. About 32% of business operations manager openings tied to Boston are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, with hybrid arrangements most common at the city's larger financial services and technology employers.
How can I get a business operations manager job in Boston with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Boston is through an operations coordinator or analyst role at a mid-size biotech, a financial services firm in Back Bay, or one of the many healthcare systems anchored in Longwood. Boston's large university presence also creates entry-level operations roles in higher education administration. From there, demonstrated process improvement results and exposure to tools like Salesforce or Workday accelerate the move into a manager-track position.
Which industries hire the most business operations managers in Boston?
Most business operations manager openings in Boston sit in Technology & Software, Consulting & Professional Services, and Healthcare & Medical Services, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Boston's identity as a hub for life sciences R&D, institutional asset management, and higher education creates sustained demand for operations professionals who can manage complex, regulated workflows across large organizations.
