Sales Representative – Business Development

Role Overview

The Post Oak Group is seeking a driven Sales Representative to support the continued growth of our business. You will work exclusively with warm inbound leads: business owners who have already raised their hand and are actively exploring a potential sale of their company or a capital raise.

Your job is to be their first point of contact, build trust quickly, understand what they're trying to accomplish, and convert that interest into a committed engagement. You will represent the firm early in the relationship and guide each owner from their first conversation through to a signed agreement.

This position is well suited to a self-motivated communicator who thrives in a goal-oriented environment and enjoys meaningful conversations with decision-makers about pivotal moments in their business.

Compensation ranges from $110,000 to $250,000 per year.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead consultations with warm, pre-qualified inbound leads, with no cold prospecting
• Speak with business owners exploring a sale, recapitalization, or capital raise, and help them understand their options
• Manage the sales process from initial discovery through close
• Present the firm's services, positioning, and value proposition clearly and persuasively
• Assess each owner's goals, timeline, and overall fit
• Address questions and objections with professionalism and confidence
• Maintain accurate CRM records and a disciplined opportunity pipeline
• Share feedback on market conditions, client sentiment, and messaging effectiveness
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a smooth handoff after close

Qualifications

• Experience in B2B sales, consultative selling, or business development
• Strong communication, relationship-building, and presentation skills
• Comfortable engaging credibly with founders and business owners
• Process-oriented mindset with the ability to manage a full sales cycle
• Comfortable working toward defined targets in a performance-driven environment
• Ability to work independently and stay organized
• Background in financial services, M&A, or professional services a plus
• Based in or able to commute to Houston, Texas
