Healthcare Sales Representative Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a healthcare sales representative in Texas?
Most healthcare sales representative roles in Texas require a bachelor's degree, ideally in life sciences, nursing, business, or a related field. Texas does not require a state-issued sales license for most medical or pharmaceutical rep roles, though certain device categories may require clinical training or manufacturer certification. Starting in inside sales, clinical support, or medical distribution at a Texas-based distributor or hospital system is a common entry path before moving into field territory roles.
How much do healthcare sales representatives make in Texas?
Healthcare sales representatives in Texas earn a median of about $61,680 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $33,360 for the lowest 10% to over $127,930 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire healthcare sales representatives in Texas?
Employers hiring healthcare sales representatives in Texas right now include VITAS Healthcare, Boston Scientific, and SYNERGY HomeCare, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's concentration of large hospital networks, independent surgery centers, and life sciences headquarters makes it one of the more active states for sustained, year-round hiring in this field.
Which Texas cities have the most healthcare sales representative jobs?
Fort Worth, Austin, and Dallas consistently post the most healthcare sales representative openings in Texas. Houston leads because of its dense cluster of hospital systems, medical device companies, and the Texas Medical Center, while Dallas and its suburbs anchor a large pharmaceutical and diagnostics corridor, and San Antonio's steady military and civilian healthcare infrastructure drives consistent demand for territory-based roles.
Are there remote healthcare sales representative jobs in Texas?
Yes, but they're rare. Healthcare sales representative work is territory-based by nature, requiring regular in-person visits to clinics, hospitals, and surgical facilities. About 0% of healthcare sales representative openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, and those tend to be inside sales, account management, or clinical education roles that don't require daily facility access.
How can I get hired as a healthcare sales representative in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point is an inside sales or sales development role at a medical distributor or specialty pharmacy company based in Houston or Dallas, where several large employers run structured sales associate programs for candidates without field experience. Transitioning from clinical roles such as medical assistant, pharmacy technician, or surgical tech gives you credibility with buyers. Completing a manufacturer-sponsored product certification or earning a Certified Medical Sales Representative credential strengthens any application without prior quota-carrying experience.
Where can I find and apply to healthcare sales representative jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to healthcare sales representative jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers actively hiring in the state. Search the listings, find the roles that match your background and territory preference, and apply directly to the ones that fit.
