Commercial Account Manager Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a commercial account manager in Texas?
Most commercial account manager roles in Texas require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field, though some employers in insurance require a Texas Department of Insurance Property and Casualty license before client-facing work begins. Candidates pursuing insurance-focused roles should complete the pre-licensing course and pass the state exam administered through the Texas Department of Insurance. For non-insurance tracks, employers typically look for prior B2B sales experience and CRM proficiency.
How much do commercial account managers make in Texas?
Commercial account managers in Texas earn a median of about $61,680 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $33,360 for the lowest 10% to over $127,930 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire commercial account managers in Texas?
Employers hiring commercial account managers in Texas right now include AutoZone, HUB International, and Southern Botanical, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's concentration of corporate headquarters, energy firms, and major logistics operators makes it one of the busiest states for sustained commercial account management hiring.
Which Texas cities have the most commercial account manager jobs?
Houston, Dallas, and Austin have the most commercial account manager openings in Texas. Houston drives volume through its energy, logistics, and industrial distribution sectors, while Dallas attracts demand from financial services, technology, and insurance headquarters, and San Antonio's strong military contractor and insurance base anchors hiring there.
Are there remote commercial account manager jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than many sales-adjacent roles, since account management for technology, SaaS, and insurance lines can often be handled digitally. About 26% of commercial account manager openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting employer flexibility in desk-based account work. Roles focused on renewals, policy service, and inside account support tend to be the most remote-friendly.
How can I get hired as a commercial account manager in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is starting as a commercial lines customer service representative or account coordinator at a regional Texas insurance agency or a large carrier like USAA or The Travelers Companies, both of which run structured associate and new-hire programs in Texas. Earning a Texas Department of Insurance Property and Casualty license before applying gives candidates a clear edge. Lateral moves from inside sales, claims, or underwriting support are also a common route into a full account manager role.
Where can I find and apply to commercial account manager jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to commercial account manager jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings across industries including insurance, logistics, technology, and energy. Find roles that fit your experience and location, then apply directly to each employer through the listing.
