Sales Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a sales professional in Texas?
Most Texas sales roles require at minimum a high school diploma, though a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field significantly improves hiring prospects for corporate and enterprise positions. Specific industries add credentialing requirements: medical device and pharmaceutical sales often expect a science or healthcare background, while real estate sales requires a Texas Real Estate Commission license. Building a record of quota attainment, even in retail or inside sales, is the most direct path into competitive roles.
Which companies hire sales professionals in Texas?
Employers hiring sales professionals in Texas right now include State Farm, AutoZone, and GameStop, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters, major energy firms, and fast-growing technology companies in the Dallas-Fort Worth and Austin corridors makes it one of the deepest hiring markets in the country for sales talent.
Which Texas cities have the most sales jobs?
Houston, Austin, and Dallas consistently post the highest volume of sales openings in Texas. Dallas-Fort Worth drives demand through its dense cluster of corporate headquarters and financial services firms, Houston reflects its energy and industrial base, and Austin's technology sector fuels strong appetite for software and SaaS sales talent across mid-market and enterprise segments.
Are there remote sales jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 12% of sales openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting how broadly employers have adopted flexible arrangements for inside sales, account management, and business development roles. Field-based and territory sales positions remain largely in-person, but inside sales, SaaS sales, and sales operations roles are the segments most consistently offered with remote flexibility.
How can I get hired as a sales professional in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is an inside sales or sales development representative role, which Texas technology and software companies in Austin and Dallas hire for continuously, often with full training provided. Large employers like Dell Technologies and AT&T run structured sales associate programs designed for recent graduates. Retail sales, customer service, or account coordination experience transfers directly, and earning a HubSpot or Salesforce certification gives candidates a measurable edge when applying without a formal sales background.
Where can I find and apply to sales jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to sales jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings tied to Texas employers and locations. Find roles that match your experience and specialty, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
