Sales Jobs in Houston: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a sales job in Houston?
Focus on Houston's dominant sectors: energy services, medical devices, commercial real estate, and B2B technology. Employers in the Energy Corridor and Texas Medical Center consistently hire sales professionals, and familiarity with those industries gives candidates a real edge. Networking through local chapters of organizations like the Houston Business Journal's events circuit and industry trade shows also opens doors that online applications alone won't.
Which companies hire saless in Houston?
Companies currently hiring saless in Houston include Notion, DC Pines Roofing, and ABB, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of November 2026. Houston's employer base skews heavily toward energy services firms, large hospital systems, commercial real estate brokerages, and regional technology companies that prefer locally based sales talent.
Are there remote sales jobs in Houston?
Yes, though availability depends heavily on the role, since field and territory-based positions almost always require in-person work, while inside sales and SaaS account management tend to offer more flexibility. About 48% of sales openings tied to Houston are remote or hybrid as of November 2026, reflecting broader industry patterns. Software and technology sales roles tied to Houston's growing tech corridor are the most likely to offer fully remote arrangements.
How can I get a sales job in Houston with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point in Houston is a sales development representative or inside sales role at one of the city's many energy services, healthcare staffing, or logistics companies, which routinely hire candidates without prior sales experience. Business development coordinator roles at commercial real estate firms along Westheimer and Post Oak are also common first steps. Demonstrating local market knowledge and any customer-facing background, even in retail or hospitality, strengthens applications significantly.
Which industries hire the most saless in Houston?
The sectors hiring the most saless in Houston are Insurance, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of November 2026. Houston's role as a global hub for energy production, one of the largest medical complexes in the world, and a growing logistics and distribution center makes those industries the primary drivers of sustained sales hiring across the metro.
