Commercial Account Manager Jobs in Massachusetts: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a commercial account manager in Massachusetts?
Most commercial account manager roles in Massachusetts require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or finance, followed by experience in sales or client services. If you are entering commercial insurance account management, Massachusetts requires a Property and Casualty Producer License issued by the Division of Insurance, which involves passing a state-approved exam. For other industries such as technology or life sciences, employers focus on relevant sales experience and CRM proficiency rather than a specific state license.
How much do commercial account managers make in Massachusetts?
Commercial account managers in Massachusetts earn a median of about $83,760 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $48,030 for the lowest 10% to over $162,330 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire commercial account managers in Massachusetts?
Employers hiring commercial account managers in Massachusetts right now include HUB International, Risman Insurance Agencies, and Salesforce, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Massachusetts's concentration of insurance carriers, technology firms, and life sciences companies means hiring is consistent year-round across the state.
Which Massachusetts cities have the most commercial account manager jobs?
Boston, Massachusetts, and Danvers have the most commercial account manager openings in Massachusetts. Boston dominates because of its dense concentration of financial services, insurance headquarters, and enterprise technology firms, while Worcester and other secondary markets reflect the distribution footprint of regional manufacturers, healthcare systems, and commercial insurers that maintain large account teams outside the Greater Boston core.
Are there remote commercial account manager jobs in Massachusetts?
Yes, and more than most sales roles, since account management work is often phone- and software-driven. About 88% of commercial account manager openings tied to Massachusetts are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting employer flexibility in the sector. Renewal management, inside sales support, and CRM-based account oversight tend to be the functions most commonly performed remotely.
How can I get hired as a commercial account manager in Massachusetts with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is starting as a sales development representative or account coordinator at a Massachusetts-based insurance carrier, software company, or medical device distributor. Large employers such as Liberty Mutual and Fidelity offer structured associate and rotational programs for recent graduates. Earning an entry-level credential, such as the Massachusetts Property and Casualty Producer License for insurance tracks or a Salesforce certification for technology accounts, gives candidates a clear edge when competing against others without direct experience.
Where can I find and apply to commercial account manager jobs in Massachusetts?
You can find and apply to commercial account manager jobs in Massachusetts on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Find roles that fit your background and apply directly to each employer.
