Digital Marketing Manager Jobs in Massachusetts: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a digital marketing manager in Massachusetts?
Most digital marketing managers in Massachusetts hold a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or business, though the role carries no state-issued license or required certification. Employers in Boston's competitive market increasingly expect hands-on experience with marketing automation, paid media, and analytics tools. Earning a recognized credential such as Google Analytics certification or HubSpot's marketing certifications strengthens a candidacy, and Massachusetts's large higher-education sector often provides pathways through internships and entry-level marketing roles.
How much do digital marketing managers make in Massachusetts?
Digital marketing managers in Massachusetts earn a median of about $212,020 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $122,350 for the lowest 10% to over $310,510 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire digital marketing managers in Massachusetts?
Employers hiring digital marketing managers in Massachusetts right now include Waters, Force Factor, and Biogen, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of November 2026. Massachusetts's mix of established financial firms, growing biotech companies, and major e-commerce players means demand for digital marketing managers stays active across multiple industries throughout the year.
Which Massachusetts cities have the most digital marketing manager jobs?
Boston, Bedford, and Milford have the most digital marketing manager openings in Massachusetts. Boston dominates due to its concentration of financial services, biotech, and e-commerce headquarters, while Cambridge's research and technology ecosystem and Waltham's suburban corporate corridor attract employers who prefer larger campuses and lower overhead than downtown Boston.
Are there remote digital marketing manager jobs in Massachusetts?
Yes, and more than most fields. Digital marketing manager work is largely screen-based and highly compatible with remote arrangements. About 88% of digital marketing manager openings tied to Massachusetts are remote or hybrid as of November 2026, reflecting how broadly employers in this market have accepted flexible work for marketing roles. Strategy, content, and paid media functions tend to be the most remote-friendly, while roles requiring close collaboration with local brand or events teams more often require in-office presence.
How can I get hired as a digital marketing manager in Massachusetts with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving up from a coordinator or specialist role within a Massachusetts organization, particularly in the state's large higher-education, biotech, or e-commerce sectors. Institutions like Boston University and Massachusetts General Hospital, as well as companies like Wayfair and Liberty Mutual, regularly post entry-level marketing positions that develop into management tracks. Building a portfolio of owned projects or campaign results and earning certifications in Google Ads or HubSpot gives candidates a measurable edge when competing for their first manager-level role.
Where can I find and apply to digital marketing manager jobs in Massachusetts?
You can find and apply to digital marketing manager jobs in Massachusetts on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers across the state. Search the listings to find roles that match your experience level, preferred location, and area of specialty, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
