Assistant Manager - Sales Jobs in Massachusetts: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a assistant manager - sales in Massachusetts?
Most assistant manager - sales roles in Massachusetts require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field combined with prior sales or retail experience. Massachusetts does not require a state-issued license for this role. Employers in the state typically promote candidates who have held senior sales associate or team lead positions and can demonstrate measurable results, so building a history of hitting targets in a Massachusetts-based sales environment is the most direct path.
Which companies hire assistant manager - saless in Massachusetts?
Companies currently hiring assistant manager - saless in Massachusetts include Hannaford, EWC Growth, and Rent-A-Center, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Massachusetts's concentration of major retail headquarters, financial services firms, and technology distributors means openings appear year-round rather than seasonally.
Which Massachusetts cities have the most assistant manager - sales jobs?
Boston, Burlington, and Dracut have the most assistant manager - sales openings in Massachusetts. Boston drives the largest share because of its density of corporate headquarters, financial institutions, and flagship retail locations, while Worcester and Springfield contribute significantly through regional distribution centers, big-box retail clusters, and insurance industry sales operations that have long anchored those markets.
Are there remote assistant manager - sales jobs in Massachusetts?
Yes, but they are less common than in purely desk-based fields, since assistant manager - sales roles often involve supervising floor staff and managing in-store or in-office teams directly. About 0% of assistant manager - sales openings tied to Massachusetts are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, with remote options appearing most often in inside sales leadership and B2B account management roles rather than retail floor supervision.
How can I get hired as a assistant manager - sales in Massachusetts with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into an assistant manager - sales role from a senior sales associate or key holder position within the same Massachusetts employer. Large retailers like TJX Companies and Wayfair run internal development programs that fast-track high performers from associate roles into management. Candidates without prior management experience gain an edge by completing a business or sales certificate through one of Massachusetts's community colleges and highlighting any informal team leadership, training responsibilities, or quota-beating sales history in their application.
