Tips for Your Business To Business Job Search
Quantify your pipeline and quota results
Business to business hiring managers want to see specific outcomes: how large your territory was, what percentage of quota you hit, and average deal size. Vague claims about relationship-building won't stand out. Pull exact numbers from your CRM history before you write a single bullet.
Tailor your resume to the sales cycle length
Enterprise B2B roles have multi-month cycles while SMB roles close fast. Mirror the language from each job posting so your resume reflects the right pace and deal complexity. A resume written for a 30-day SMB cycle reads wrong when the employer runs 9-month procurement processes.
Apply early to roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists business to business openings from across the United States in one place, so you can find roles that match and apply directly to each listing.
Target companies whose buyers match your background
If you've sold to IT directors before, focus your search on vendors whose buyer persona is IT directors. Your credibility with that audience is a concrete advantage and interviewers will test it. Applying broadly across buyer types dilutes that edge and makes your story harder to tell.
Prepare a deal story for every interview
B2B interviews almost always include a request to walk through your most complex or most valuable closed deal. Prepare a crisp narrative covering the initial problem, the stakeholders involved, the objections you overcame, and the outcome. Rehearse it until you can tell it in under four minutes.
Negotiate total comp, not just base salary
B2B offers include base, commission structure, accelerators, and sometimes equity. Before you respond to any offer, ask for the on-target earnings breakdown in writing so you understand how realistic the variable pay is based on typical attainment across the team.
Business To Business Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies are hiring the most business to businesss?
The companies hiring the most business to businesss right now include SentiLink, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), and Blinds To Go, with the largest share of openings in New York, California, and Texas, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Demand is concentrated in technology and financial services sectors, where complex product offerings require dedicated B2B sales professionals.
How many business to business jobs are remote?
About 25% of business to business openings are fully remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting the shift toward digital-first sales processes. Inside sales, sales development representative, and account management roles within software and SaaS companies tend to offer the highest share of remote arrangements compared to field sales or channel roles.
How do you become a business to business?
Start by building foundational sales skills in a customer-facing role such as retail, customer success, or inside sales. Move into a sales development representative position to learn prospecting and pipeline management. Master a CRM platform, study consultative selling frameworks, and work toward closing your own deals. Progress from SMB accounts to mid-market or enterprise as your deal complexity grows.
Can you get hired in business to business with little or no experience?
Yes, entry points exist through sales development representative and business development representative roles, which prioritize communication skills and coachability over a long sales history. Highlight any experience where you persuaded, negotiated, or managed client relationships, even outside a formal sales context. Certifications from recognized sales training programs can also strengthen an application when experience is limited.
What does the business to business interview process look like?
Most B2B interview processes include an initial recruiter screen, a hiring manager conversation focused on your sales history and methodology, a mock discovery call or pitch exercise, and a final panel with sales leadership or cross-functional stakeholders. Candidates are typically evaluated on their ability to qualify a prospect, handle objections, and articulate a clear value proposition under pressure.
Where can I find and apply to business to business jobs?
You can find and apply to business to business jobs on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from across the United States. Search the listings to find roles that match your experience level and specialization, then apply directly to each one that fits.
