- Work directly with the fabrication manager, welders, and shop personnel to ensure designs are practical, accurate, and ready for production.
- Calculate dimensions, material requirements, weight limitations, and other specifications necessary for fabrication.
- Prepare detailed drawings, layouts, and specifications to support manufacturing and assembly.
- Develop and modify designs based on feedback from customers and the fabrication team.
- Assist with material selection, production planning, and determining efficient fabrication methods.
- Create and prepare files for CNC plasma cutting equipment and assist with plasma table operations.
- Review existing drawings, identify potential design issues, and recommend improvements.
- Collaborate with customers to understand project needs and develop effective design solutions.
- Maintain organized and accurate drawings, design files, and project documentation.
- Support additional shop projects and fabrication needs as necessary.
- Experience using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or comparable CAD design software.
- 1+ year of drafting experience or relevant technical education.
- 4+ years of SolidWorks experience preferred.
- Understanding of mechanical drafting, 3D modeling, and fabrication drawings.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, measurements, and specifications.
