Care Assistant Jobs in Houston: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a care assistant job in Houston?
Focus your search on Houston's Texas Medical Center area, senior living communities in Katy and Sugar Land, and home health agencies operating across Harris County. Employers here prioritize candidates with CPR certification, a clean background check, and hands-on experience in personal care or activities of daily living. Applying directly to hospital systems and large home health networks gives you the broadest access to openings in this market.
Which companies hire care assistants in Houston?
Companies currently hiring care assistants in Houston include Harris Health, Houston Methodist, and Texas Children's Hospital, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Houston's mix of large hospital systems, independent home health agencies, and assisted living operators creates a wide range of employer types for care assistants at every experience level.
Are there remote care assistant jobs in Houston?
Remote care assistant roles are rare because the work is inherently hands-on and performed in clients' homes, care facilities, or clinical settings. About 0% of care assistant openings tied to Houston are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those positions typically involve care coordination, scheduling, or administrative support rather than direct personal care.
How can I get a care assistant job in Houston with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point in Houston is applying to home health agencies that offer on-the-job training, particularly those serving the senior population in communities like Pearland and The Woodlands. Adult day centers, group homes, and respite care programs in Harris County also hire entry-level candidates and provide structured supervision. Volunteering at a local senior center or hospice organization strengthens your application and demonstrates genuine commitment to the role.
Which industries hire the most care assistants in Houston?
