Audiologist Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become an audiologist in Texas?
Audiologists in Texas must hold a license from the Texas State Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology. To qualify, you need a doctoral degree in audiology (Au.D.) from a program accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology, plus completion of a supervised clinical fellowship. Most Texas employers also expect the CCC-A credential from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association before or shortly after hire.
How much do audiologists make in Texas?
Audiologists in Texas earn a median of about $93,570 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $73,430 for the lowest 10% to over $137,340 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire audiologists in Texas?
Employers hiring audiologists in Texas right now include Baylor Scott & White Health, NationsBenefits, and CHRISTUS Health, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's large integrated health systems and its substantial network of Veterans Affairs and military treatment facilities make it one of the more diverse markets for audiology employment in the country.
Which Texas cities have the most audiologist jobs?
Houston, Round Rock, and Austin have the most audiologist openings in Texas. Houston's size and its concentration of major medical centers and children's hospitals drive the largest share of postings, while Dallas's dense network of ENT practices and hospital systems adds significant volume, and San Antonio's military installations and VA facilities create steady demand that other metro areas rarely match.
Are there remote audiologist jobs in Texas?
Yes, but they're rare. Audiology is a hands-on clinical profession, and the vast majority of roles require in-person patient contact for diagnostic testing, device fittings, and follow-up care. About 32% of audiologist openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, and those positions are almost exclusively in telehealth triage, hearing screening coordination, or clinical program management rather than direct diagnostic work.
How can I get hired as an audiologist in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a clinical fellowship position, which Texas's large health systems, including UT Health, Texas Children's Hospital, and Houston Methodist, post regularly for new Au.D. graduates. Applying for audiology assistant roles first is another concrete option, as many Texas hospital networks hire assistants who shadow licensed audiologists and build practical skills while completing credentialing. Completing your Au.D. clinical hours at a high-volume Texas site and securing your state license before graduation gives you the clearest competitive edge.
Where can I find and apply to audiologist jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to audiologist jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings from hospitals, clinics, VA facilities, and private practices. Search the listings, find roles that fit your experience and preferred location, and apply directly to the employers posting them.
